Default Wheelie King Official Thread

This was announced, like today, and I think Ill have to buy one.

Wheelie Poppin' Fun Right Out Of The Box!
HPI adds a whole new dimension to fun with the Wheely King! The Wheely King is all-out, car-crushing, wheels-in-the-air fun!

As the name suggests, this car is all about Wheelies! With its tuned weight distribution and wheelie bar, the Wheely King makes it easy to pop a wheelie on demand - just pull the trigger and go! Watch the front wheels rise into the air as the weight of the truck goes onto the rear wheels! Easy to drive and a joy to watch, the Wheely King will be the most fun vehicle in your RC garage!

Just Like The Real Thing!
The Wheely King is great for the show-and-go crowd - fat chrome wheels hold 5.4" all-terrain Mud Thrasher monster truck tires, and the Twin Vertical Plate (TVP) chassis features a super cool chrome-plated tube design that looks just like the real monster trucks you've enjoyed watching! The front and rear solid axles feature pivot joints and a realistic multi-link monster truck suspension for easy driving and control, plus the ultimate scale look! Topping off the Wheely King is a painted and trimmed monster truck body, mounted on adjustable body mounts that allow you to fit all kinds of fun and exciting bodies. It all adds up to a great kit and hours of enjoyment!

It's not just about its good looks, however - the Wheely King lives up to its name from the second you pull the trigger! With its strong 540-size motor and solid-axle 2WD drive train, the Wheelie King is a joy to drive around tight, twisty circuits or down the street!
No Terrain Too Tough!
The unique monster truck-style multi-link suspension gives the Wheely King huge amounts of front suspension travel - combined with the all-terrain semi-pneumatic rubber tires and 4 oil-filled coil-over shock absorbers, the Wheely King is perfect for crawling over kerbs, grass and anything that gets in your way! Putting the power to the rear straight axle is an efficient and tough universal slider shaft, perfect for keeping the muck and dirt out of the drive train! Protecting the drive gears is a strong plastic cover, held in place with convenient body clips. A full set of metal ball bearings enhances the efficiency of the drive train, helping the Wheely King get over 20 minutes of runtime out of its 7.2v battery!

Racing the Wheely King is a blast, too! Durable, easy to drive and loads of fun, it's great to see it go on its rear wheels as you accelerate out of a corner! Time your laps on any RC or BMX track, or get two or more Wheely Kings out there for even more fun and driving antics!

The 1/12th scale size of the Wheely King is perfectly suited for the back yard basher and its simple and durable design allows for ease of maintenance and the ability to soak up almost any kind of abuse you can throw at it.

Everything Included!
With a completely assembled chassis, painted body and a full set of electronics, it's a simple matter of charging the battery to have some fun! The Wheely King features the high-quality, proven HPI TF-1 27MHz transmitter. The SF-1 servo is reliable, durable and plenty strong for the Wheely King, performing its duties under all conditions. The installed reversible electronic speed control (ESC) features a reverse delay to protect the gear box and drive gears, and gives the Wheely King maximum runtime while you're out having a blast. For the ultimate in control and feedback from the truck, the Wheelie King features fully proportional steering and throttle. A high-torque 540-size 27-turn motor is used to power the Wheely King and is easily upgradeable to any normal 19-turn or faster motor. The 7.2v 1500mAh Ni-Cad battery gives you over 20 minutes of smile-inducing runtime, and comes assembled with quick-change connectors. Charge the battery with the handy included wall charger, or use any standard RC battery charger.

All electronics are standard size and feature industry-standard connectors for easy upgrades and full compatibility with most common RC electronics. That means you can easily use the Wheely King radio gear with any other car as well or you can upgrade every individual component of the radio gear in your wheelie as you wish. The Wheely King is easy to upgrade - install a faster motor for insane top speeds, or pop in a different battery for even longer runtimes!

Because the Wheely King is 1/12th size, it's smaller than the 1/10th size E-Savage and it's just as fun! The Wheelie King can be easily driven indoors because of its smaller size, but it's also perfect for fun in the garden and even out on the racetrack!

It looks like it borrows pinion and spur gears off of electric HPI cars and wheels/tires, diff gears and shocks of the MT/MT2. so good to see some parts support before the things even out. so youy can change gearing, get aluminum shocks, wheels/tires and get steel diff gears right off the bat.

looks like it may be a cool rock crawler.

This would have been a run away hit if its 4wd. But from the looks of it, its possible to make it that way.

The chassis thing is more look like the one used in Tamiya Trail Master 2wd trucks.

It's a blast to drive. You will like it! It will only take a few parts to convert to 4wd.

Are these things available for purchase now? I wouldnt mind having one to play with in the yeard. It looks like with a few parts it would make a nice crawler.

My only concern if this is made into 4wd. How much do you need to gear down just not to overload the single stock motor and esc. Maybe thats the reason they released it 2wd only.
