Default My new E-Maxx!

I have been saving and waiting to get an E-Maxx finally I received mine on Wednesday February 11th.

Here are some "stock" pics:

Some pics after a few mods:

Enjoy! Let me know what you think. My mods consist of removing the bumpers, rebuilding shocks with 70wt oil, putting on RPM bulkhead braces (for color)and replacing the red springs with Trinity springs. I am running Team Orion 3000mAh Ni-MH Super Duty batteries right now. This is a newer version of the E-Maxx so it features the T-Maxx 2.5's WideMaxx suspension (stock).

You'll probably have to find out for yourself but just a suggestion. You really need to put those bumpers back on if you haven't found out already that they are there for a reason. The first couple of really hard end over end flips you do without the bumpers is going to do some major damage to the tops of the shocks and the shock towers and the body mounts. Without the bumpers the body will compress too much and all the impact will be to the towers and mounts.

And you should look to upgrading the tires before spending $$$ on hotter motors. The Titan motors are plenty fast enough to break stuff untill you get used to the truck. But those stock chevron tires are a nightmare to the handling. To those that are new to E-Maxx those tires make the truck wander all over at high speeds making you think the steering servo and linkage is weak when actually it's the tires that are the problem.

For what that's worth.

Duder, I imagine this is what you are refering to?????

"URGENT RECALL AND REPLACEMENT NOTICE [05/03/01]

You may want to note that this is dated well over 2 years ago and refers to the "Traxxas VX12" ESC. This was discontinued a long time ago and the Novak EVX ESC has been the supplied ESC for quite sometime now. There is nothing wrong with the EVX under normal operating conditions. You might want to refresh your browser for current updates.

Nice pics. Reminded me of my Emaxx when I got it new last year. ... You'd really want to upgrade the servo. I have a Sanwa (Airtronics) that pulls 220 ou-in. in torque with a holding power well in the 300s. ... Well worth the upgrade. The stock tires are ok for offroad but bowties would offer more traction.

Does anybody know whether its safe to use 2 7-cell batts with the EVX ? If so, can I use 2 7 cell 3300s ?

The EVX is fine with 14 cells provided you don't try to run a pair of those really low wind motors. Only run 19 turn or greater motors with 14 cells. 3300's are fine too. Capacity really doesn't matter to the ESC.
