Has anybody tried this? Would it affect significantly the speed?

hey, thats a good MOD. Its now like a super rooster. EVX are much cheaper and you can connect 2 motors automatically.

The speed/performance will be directly related to the total cells (or voltage ) used in a given application. The number of "packs" is rather insignificant. Here's the numbers I use.

Max volts 23 (16 cells)

Connector that powers servo and evx use 5-8 cells
Other side "dummy" connector use 0-12 cells

Any 7.2 motor will work, as long as it does not exceed the currnt rating of evx. It may be able to use about a 10 turn motor, not real sure. The numbers I gave you are for using the evx's built in bec not a seperate rx pack.
