Nitro or Electric???

I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to get an electric or nitro monster truck. I was wondering if you guys could help me in that process(just getting started in this hobby). I would like to know some pros and cons of both, which is easier to maintain, and available hop-up parts. Thanks for the help.

My first question is...how old are you? 22? If so, I'd go with nitro! Electric is easier...but you will get bored of it very quickly. Nitro is more maintenance but is a complete blast!

thanks for that. i guess i should mention that i will be putting a brushless motor in the electric. thanks again.

yeh mate i would go nitro 4 sure.. thats wat i did wen i started. u can make electric go as fast but its very annoying ot maintain batteries, charging them and all. Also with nitro if u like tinkering and tweaking they are the go..

hope this helped mate ;)

ok electric can be as ffast in stock trim with good batteries. my stock e-zilla with gp3700's can pull my well tuned savage x off the line. the x pulls it down on high end but only by a few miles per hour. the big downside to electric is charge times. at 4amps it takes like an hour, atleast, to fully charge them. nitro needs to be broken in and tuned properly . and maintained when something breaks. both will break but nitro will seem morehigh maintenance. nitro sounds cool and is just nasty where as electric is silent and morecontrolled. nitro typically has more options. your choices for electric are the e-zilla and e-maxx.

Go for nitro if it is a MT. I do prefer electrics for the most part but somehow a silent MT doesn't feel right. Need that noise and smoke to go with the experience.

yea my e-zilla is fast but its weird to drive........just doesnt have that 'feel' of a nitro

im currently thinking about turning my nitro dragster into a direct drive electric dragster......itll FLY

nitro killer

i like the electric . i got a gorilla maxx with a badass brushless .you can look at it two ways .electric is like stealth what you dont hear is what can take you by surprise . nitro you can here coming and give abit more stick. get a good brushless and you can say bye bye nitro . as long as you can controll it
