Recommendation for 1/8 nitro monster truck basher
#1

Hi, I'm looking to get a 1/8 scale nitro monster truck as a basher. I'm looking for something durable. I am also open to older trucks as I'm not looking to break the bank (it does not have to be the latest). What do you recommend?

HPI savage, I never had one but that’s what I would get if it were me. I had a revo but that’s 1/10th so a little smaller but still an awesome monster truck to bash and they handle much better than any 8th scale monster truck.

Revo vs. Savage, I definitely like the Revo more, especially if you're new. They're basically the same size.

to me the old revo is truggy anyways.
Tmaxx is the real monster truck.
Anyways Tmaxx is way too unstable, not good basher at all also.
The last version of Savage before this new 2022 was almost perfect to be true.
The only two weak things was hinge pins, and the wheel hexes.
Now HPI made everything perfect finally.
And this new version Savage XL looks awsome.
Go see this in real at your hobbyshop,
!! it is huge real 1/8 monster truck, revo looks like toy if you compare both in real.!!
The difference is like night and day between these two in real.
You must see this new Savage XL with your own eys in real !
It is a bad ass Monster !! true 1/8 xl, and these new tyres feel so grippy, this must be totally awsome truck

The Revo is a nimble, agile truck with an incredible suspension. It handles very well. The Savage is a tank. It is incredibly durable. You won't go wrong wither either. The shame is mostly that the MT body market has dried up and bodies for both are slightly more difficult to come by than they once were. Aftermarket engines for the Revo are also limited now.
Personally, I would pick up either a used 3.3 or an XL and bring it back to life rather than spend new money on either one.

Is it possible to mount 21 size 3.5cc pullstarter motor to Revo ? What part is needed ?
13mm turbo ported crankshaft along with the ABC 6-port piston and sleeve allow this engine to deliver superior horsepower, high torque and extreme efficiency matched only by engines at much higher price points.
Less than 150bucks
great upgrade to RTR motors
