Default Rebuilt Kyosho Mad Force Kruiser Rides Again!!

Hello all,

Hope you are all well.

Just finished rebuilding my old Kyosho Mad Force VE version 1. Feels great to get it back out onto the road again.

Still mostly stock. Team Orion 2050kv 2-pole brushless with 130amp Team Orion R8 ESC. Running 4s (2x 2s 6000mAh 100c Team Orion Carbon Pro packs)

Wheelie bar has been modified with 100mm razor scooter wheels. The stock wheelie bar accepts 8mm bearings without modification.

Kyosho 84mm purple springs rear, Kyosho 84mm green springs front. 20wt silicone oil in the shocks.

Rear shock towers are swapped from left to right and inverted to get a more progressive angle to the rear shocks. This immensely helps with pogosticking of the rear end.

Body is an El Camino SS for a Savage XL.

Stock tires have been very impressive with wear over the years and grip on any surface. First time I have not had to, or wanted to, replace stock tires on a RTR.

Replaced stock servo with one of those cheap '25kg' ones from Amazon. Nothing to write home about. Next upgrade will be on axle steering setup. Servo saver is getting weak.

Kyosho Mad Force Kruiser VE V1.

Back on the road doing my favorite thing, Wheelies!!

Family with toddler reacts cutely to Mad Force at the park.

Enjoy!!

Later,

Tony

Looks fantastic! Very similar to mine minus the much better looking body on yours!! 👌 I also run the scooter wheels on mine and I 3D printed a battery tray so now I run one 4S battery. I had the servo axle on setup on both my Forces but after about a year of running, I decided to revert back to stock. I personally didn't think it was a HUGE improvement plus to service the front axle and remove it from the chassis became a pain in the ass as now I had to also remove the servo wire from the RX box. Just personal preference is all.

These are great trucks!! Hope Kyosho never stops makinh them.
Edit- I like that rear shock mount idea and I'll definitely have to try that for myself.

Hello,

Hope you are well.

Here is a closeup of the rear shock mount modification, obviously before I changed to the new springs. Just swap the left and right and invert them as seen in this closeup. You will lose that one aluminum support when doing so, but I have not had a problem without it. The handling is a night and day difference with this mod and the new springs and lighter shock oil. New springs are much longer at 84mm, and of course different rates.

Compared to the tried-and-tested Mad Force Kruiser's nitro engine, VE is expressed by the Orion Tours home team's Vortex Brushless drive.
