What shocks for my Clod?

I was wondering what 4 shocks I should buy for my new Clod? I will have the time warp chassis on this one. Can anyone recommend 4 shocks that are 100mm or possibly a little longer?
Thank you for your time!

I went shorter with my retro truck. (4) of the front ultra shocks with the dual rate Slash front springs and 20w AE oil seems to be plush enough for racing or bashing.

20wt seems way to light rebound has to be springy. 50wt seems to be a good starting point.

Scale appearance wise, that would look about right for the era of truck the Clod represents. The Clod also carried almost all of it’s weight in it’s suspension vs chassis as well.

Thanks guys I will try 50wt and see what happens.

true, but I like a nice plush suspension. I mean that is the point of tuning and modification. otherwise may as well run it stock.

The amount of unsprung weight (axles/tires/shocks/etc) means regardless of shock package it's still going to be bouncy. The shocks are only supporting the chassis, which in stock form is extremely light which is why thin shock oil is recommended 10-20wt. Drilling a pair of 1/4in holes in the backside of the wheel for venting helps a lot.

yes but if the oil is to thin the springs will react much faster a thicker oil slows down the rebound. its all personal preference.

what Length Shocks are you all using? I have som 100mm eye to eye and they seem to short for my preference. its aftermarket Chassis.

I just installed a pair of internal shocks on my smt10 and initial thoughts are that they're good to go. I replaced rc4wd king shocks with em and I'd recommend those as well, they do tend to break where the shaft screws into the bottom eye which could be avoided possibly by threading on a plastic eye. Sorry don't know what those are called.
