Default Losi electric LST on 3s?

I have been out of the hobby for about 20 years.
I recently decided on a project to convert a Losi LST to electric.
I ordered this combo to power the truck:
SIDEWINDER 4 SENSORLESS ESC 4X4 MT EDITION W / 1415-2400 SENSOR READY MOTOR
( sorry cannot post links )

I just now received it but I am thinking I maybe made a mistake.
My reasoning for ordering the 3s setup was that I did not want a wheelie monster and the trucks I saw with 4s-6s seemed to have too much power.
So before I brake the seal on the package should I return it for a 4s-6s combo instead?

Thank you.

Update:
Thanks to this forum I was able to get a hold of a Hobbywing XR8 Plus for cheap.
So now I just need to get a motor, I am looking to get a less or equal to a 2200kv one.
I am however keeping the 3s battery I ordered.
Hence, I will update this thread and describe the performance of running the LST on 3s once I find a motor, and maybe even compare it to running on 4s/6s.

on 4s that motor would probably move the lst ok id probably go with a 21/22t pinion still may run hot. you should be looking at more of a 1/8 size motor like 42mm diameter 74mm length and closer to 2000kv with 24t pionion. its going to be a wheelie monster for sure

Hah, it looks like my second post was cut short right after "I am looking to get a.." due to using an angled bracket as an expression of less than.
Anywho, thank you for the tip billyg900.
I have a 25t pinion atm and might be able to get a 2200kv for cheap pretty soon;
The Dynamite Fuze 1/8 4-Pole Brushless Motor, 2200Kv that is designed for the LST 3XL-E
Is that a good fit or should I spend my money on something else?
I can get it for 75$ on ebay, as new.

that motor will work well. Not sure about the 3s but if its a problem you can always pickup an identical 3s to run 6s

Geared right it should move ok , Iím just like you I donít really care for wheelies and stuff Iím running a 3s setup in my traxxas summit and itís just a tad faster than stock and thatís all I was looking for I wouldnít mind running 4s but the summit is kind of heavy and those diffs are just way too small. I fear Iíll go through diffs left and right . If only traxxas would do a brushless sensored summit 2.0 . Iíd be all over that! And no Iím not a traxxas fan boy Iíve owned em all,my favorite line is in fact the lst line, I used to race a lightened up lst with a Losi 3.4 and would spank the high dollar Revoís all the time but parts support is sadly not all that great for lst and traxxas parts are a dime a dozen on eBay so I gotta go with what works best for me.

Yeah, I am growing vary of the cost of power.
Parts for the LST are not as available as they were obviously but I am still able to find what I need, it is mostly about pricing, but since this project is not a sprint that is something I can live with.

Anywho, I will start out with the 3s solution I purchased and then I will consider trying 4s if I see no considerable tear.
Am still looking for a motor though, as I could not determine whether the encapsulating mount solution that comes with the "Fuze 1/8 4-Pole Brushless Motor, 2200Kv: LST 3XL-E" can be separated from the motor itself.
If anyone here have any insight into to that aspect of the motor I would appreciate if you could share.

the motor mount on the 3xl seperates from the motor. its just a heatsink/ motor mount. post a couple pics when you get it all together

I went with the amazon (Surpass 4076) 2000kv one instead as I could not figure out the details of the dynamite motor.
The amazon motor was almost 30$ cheaper as I have prime.
I will deffo post some pictures, just need to get my post count up

yes send it back, i believe you will just overwork that little of a system with such a heavy truck. i have a video with a lst converted with a sc8 speed controller and a castle 2200kv running on 3 cells and it is plenty fast but it does still wheelie very easily.
