Question? Build or Sell!
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...1bf3e23e9c.jpg
Should I build one from two and a few extra parts I have, or sell it? |
id build it, that chassis and those a-arms all cleaned up will make a nice truck
|
the bulkheads are there as well and I think I have the rest of the U.E. parts in a box in storage
|
people still pay good money for U.E parts, dont forget to post a pic if you decide to do it
|
Could use a little more input. not sure it would be worth the effort to build!
|
So....nobody know what there are looking at... or nobody wants to help me out with this... Ok I guess I'm on My own.../Thanks billyg900 for saying something.. This is another reason I don't post much....
|
I'd build it. There's a few groups on Facebook that are more responsive than these forums, so you might want to look into joining them if you're looking for quick answers.
|
Depends on what your after . build= fun sell= possible more fun.we cant make your decision 4 you. if it was me .id find out what kinda cash im going to get ..$$ is the root of OUR evil..lol..running a nitro in my city and many around me is a no no tickets fines taken away. running a electric is ok no noise except the yelling from those around me watching..make your own decision and Go have fun
|
I think its a combo of the lack of interest in nitro lately plus most have moved on from the tmaxx plus a lot of people use facebook groups (which is a mess) i still have my tmaxx 2.5 but it just sits there
I remember the days of the maxxtraxx forums back in 2001 or so, if you posted something it got tons of responses instantly and by the next day it was 4 or 5 pages back |
I still prefer nitro but have a couple electrics.. Just not as much interest in it anymore. Makes me sad...
|
Hi
Definitely rebuild and get it up and running, then decide whether to still want to keep it or sell it. |
There are better platforms than the T-Maxx. I fixed a pair of T-Maxx trucks for a friend of mine that sold them to finance something better/different. If it has rare hop-ups or chassis parts on it, then selling it makes sense if you’re not sure if you want to keep it.

Take the assembled one completely apart to give it a good inspection and cleaning - throw all the plastic and/or worn out, dirty pieces in a box to worry about later. Clean up/polish the aluminum parts and nice plastic and especially any UE parts and start building off that chassis. Set aside a separate work/display area for that truck to make it a long term project so during down time you can drool over it and use your time to imagine and research the potentially awesome build it can be :)
Fun stuff like new wheels/tires and body sitting on the project can be inspiring enough and look good enough to keep you interested and want to complete it eventually. I regretfully sold an old 3906 Maxx a few years ago that I had fixed up with Gmaxx, UE and other awesome parts that are hard to find and $$$ these days :( |
I'd say go for it. I have 2 tmaxx trucks. One is staying as a nitro and one is getting converted to electric. There's lots of parts available so shouldn't be hard to source what you need. As for selling I'm not sure your going to get much. I got both mine for free and there both fairly heavily modified. |
For me...build it, use it a few times to see your creation work & make necessary adjustments, then sell it. Like ls1 said you won't get much but it will sell. oneloosenut on ebay will probably buy them both as is right now. I love building RCs but i rarely have the time or urge to use them.
