bad idea. dont go for that, its a great engine but its a big block, cost more money to fix the truck up to accomodate the big block motor than it does for the motor its self.

i dont know what your problem with the 2.5 is its a great engine, i love it. but if you really want a change get a OS .18TM. best engine ever for a maxx/revo IMO. way more powerful than the 2.5 and its a OS. easy to tune, very reliable. cost about 200 bucks. but its about the best engine out there. oh and its a direct bolt on and can use the EZ start too

ive hard mostly bad about trx 2.5's holding their tune's. an o.s. 18 tm would be a good engine for you if your looking for tuning and reliability, thats what o.s.'s are for.http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHLW0&P=ML here's a link

what kind of power does the os .18 give the truck? i have had nothing but problems with the 2.5 it gets hot then it wont start just a bunch of hassel with it that i dont like. when i go racing i want to be able to finish a race without fighting to keep the truck running

the o.s., will pack more of a punch then the trx and it wont give you the problems you just mentioned. as most of us know o.s. is legendary for quality and reliability. they've been making some powerhouses lately now too. like the .18

i agree 100%

The new OS's coming out are beasts for racing, and for holding a tune and reliablity they set the standard.

.18 cu in (cubic inches) is 3.0cc's (cubic centimeters) whereas .15 cu in is 2.5cc Traxxas pioneered using cc's on their engine name to make it seem bigger. so in other words the trx 2.5 is .15 cu in where as the o.s. is .18 cu in. making the o.s. bigger

Default i did the .18 now i have a .26

if you KNOW you want torque go BB and as said before you WILL have to beef your powertrain from engine to wheel. if your not into major powertrain changes get the O.S. .18MT. As for me I'm going to do an all alloy T-MAXX and i'm going to use a Dynamite MACH .28 to power it.

or, you could get the new "3.3" engine traxxas made! those are suposed to easily drop into the 2.5 maxx.
