Default RRR/CCC Racing in Fargo, ND

Let's get going on the '05 season. Should be a great one. The track will get bigger and better. The new driver's stand. Only two months until we could start. What's everyone going to be running this year? Any new rides coming out of the closet?

Yes we got the storage container, and we have to be optomistic about the weather. We might not be able to start racing in April but hopefully we can start working the track up at that time. Hope to see you all some time this summer for some racing.

I can hardly wait! Just email your regular email list of people when anything is planned to be worked on or anything like that.

How do you think the electric classes will shape up?

I plan to run 4wd Electric buggy and I am willing to help out with track setup, etc. Just let me know and I will see what I can do.

I may also be able to help out with some sponsorship of some sort, email me and I can explain to whoever is incharge of the club.

I read that stock class was slow for the track, maybe going to 19 turn would give a better spec class so newbies don't feel out powered but are not out of control?

Is there a place that still has pics of the track, etc?

Thanks, just went there and was nice to see it was updated.

That forum that was supposed to be done looks like it still is kind of working.

How receptive are the papers around here about posting info about RC Racing in the Lifestyle or whatever they call it section? I know they did a write up about it where I was at last time, got some interest in the hobby.

Those guys up in Bismarck are lucky right now, looks like they are going to have a nice set of tracks and shop!

Sorry no news right now. Fairly frozen still to do much. We will be having a club meeting soon to try and decide a few things and review some things from last year. We will send out an email to everyone when we decide when that will happen. If you would like to be on the mailing list please drop a line to [email protected]

Here is a proposed layout for the 2005 RRR/CCC track. There are no jumps layed out in this, they will be added as it's built. The straight is 170' long from outer edge to outer edge, so the driving line should be about 150'. All driving lanes will be 10' wide with the straight being 15'. There will be some nice elevation changes and nice jump sections. Let me know what you think. Hope to see you all out there this summer.

I like the layout you have drawn up ( was this done in MS paint? ) .

Only issue I ever had with the straights ( assuming on the far end ) was depending on how high / low the driver stand was you could kind of lose site of the vehicle in relation to the barriers.

For the regionals out in connecticut they did something interesting by running the straight from one corner to the other corner across the middle, I don't believe it was the full length but it was at least 3/4's the length of the track as far as the straight goes, was pretty nice.

I like what you drew up however so don't get me wrong, I am just throwing that out there as an FYI depending on how high the drivers stand is.

Yes I have raced on tracks with the straight set up as a "cross town expressway" as it was announced in Tampa, FL. That worked pretty well too but this should be fine. The driver's stand is a 20' long by 8' high(inside) steel storage container. Then we are building a deck another 10" higher on top of that, so you should be able to see all of the track no problem whatsoever.

It was drawn in paint yes, kind of a pain.

great then. I like the look of the track you drew out so no problems. Do you guys change the track a few times during the season or is it pretty much set from day one?

look forward to meeting all of you guys and hopefully get some 4wd Electric racing going out here.

Not sure if it will apply for this year but I will ask anyway, what was the hot tires for the track for the various classes run?

Thanks.
