Default Off Road Set Up

Hey all I was just looking for some opinions on what to run for the electric off road season this year. I will be running the x60 truck... I just haven't decided 100% on what esc, battery, and motor combo to run in it.

As far the the esc goes I have been looking at the Team Orion/KO, LRP or Tekin. No ideas at all on what to run for batteries, I have never ran a lipo setup before, definitely open to suggestion on those. For motors I already have a Hacker e40 13.5 and 17.5, Team Orion 13.5 and a Novak 13.5, no mod motors yet though... need to get one for the MN Nitro Series!

Any help would be great, thanks!

I was kind of looking at the Team ORION 3800mAh 30C Race Spec or the Intellect 7.4V 3800mAh 35C Lipo, or maybe the Intellect 7.4V 5000mAh 30C Lipo. Just trying not to kill my budget, I can get all these batteries for under $75 each and I don't really want to spend much more than that.

I've got a Mamba Max 5700 motor/esc combo in my T4 with a MaxAmps 4000 Lipo in my T4. Been running this for about 3 years, zero issues.

I'm going to be running the Tekin RS Pro in all of my 1/10 electrics this year. I've only had one run with RS so far but was very impressed. Tekins have a crapload of features and are really nice units overall, definately worth checking out. For lipos we have been running the SMC lightning volts 5200's and have been really happy with them so far. I think they're under a hundred bucks too, if you look in the right place.

Hope that helps

I've had no issues with my novak esc.. I know people have had good luck with Tekin speedos as well.

For Lipos, I love my SMC packs. Can't beat them.

What's a x60 truck?

I just got a new "C-MAXX" SMC 3200/40c thru the Superior Hobbies banner for $85 and a ThunderPower 5000/40c for $109. The 3200 will be fine for normal racing, but the TP will be for 20 min Mod Truck. I ran the 3200 yesterday with a 13.5 for more than 30min.

I've been using the LRP Sphere comp ed. Awesome powerband and adjustablility. Just got the new Xcelerin for the fine tuning aspect and fan for the ModTruck. I don't know if you guys are running the 20 min mains yet, we started last year.....looks like a blast. With all the money invested in these cars/trucks, the more drive time the better.

The MN Nitro Series will only be running 5 minute qualifiers and 6 minute mains, my local track only runs 5 minute rounds, so basically normal ROAR rules... and I will be driving this at the ROAR nats in Omaha later this year!

I haven't seen any XFactory vehicles in person yet. They look pretty cool, especially since thy're breaking the mold. It's cool that there are about 5 or 6 race competitive mfgs these days, but they're all the same. I think with the extreme weight differences with LiPo/bl a new design like the x50, x5 & x6 squared are needed.

Hey Adam,I would suggest checking out the x60 forum and see what they are running for lipos. It would be nice to know for sure what lipos fit in the truck the best. Also, it might help you eliminate some brands because of the measurements of the actual lipo pack. As for the speed control, if it were me I would go with the KO 1.5 version.

Yep that is my X60, I'm going to bring it to the next race in Cottage Grove. A few people wanted to see it. Maybe I'll have some electronics in it by then.
