Default Thanks!

Big-ads, I got to run your gtr at pingree that day, had a blast and even have one on the way for this winter. Thanks for letting us have a go with it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! We will have our winter schedule posted soon. Maybe you can hop a ride with Tyler sometime and come race with us.

I make it to Pingree usually once a month or more in the winter and am looking forward to meeting you in person! If you have any questions feel free to PM me and I will do the best I can to answer.

Very productive meeting last night. The new officers for the year are as follows:
President - Adam Balk
Vice President - Jason Lochthowe
Secretary - Chad Hammer
Treasurer - Troy Fisher
Board Members - Mike Butts, Justin Ternes, Jordan Sveet

There are a couple adjustments to some classes as well.

12th Stock:
  • Will remain on 17.5 motors no matter where we end up racing.
  • Purple stripe spec tire will be required for qualifying and racing
  • Novice are still allowed to run any foam tire on their 12th
  • Practice is open tire if people wish to use up any regular foam they have left over

12th Super Stock:
  • Will remain 13.5 motors
  • Purple stripe spec tire also required for qualifying and racing
  • Can use any tire you wish for practice

21.5 Spec Touring:
  • Will be a combination of touring car and USGT
  • requires 21.5 motors, 2s lipo, 1350 grams weight
  • Can run Jaco Blue, Gravity Type C, Sweep 32, or USGT spec tires
  • Match body to tires selection (i.e. Touring car tires and body or USGT tires and body)

VTA:
All rules stay the same however we will allow the HPI tires or Protoform tires

We are in the process of locking down a location. Working out a few more details and the schedule and race location will be released soon. Northstar will be December 8th-10th and Wild About Wheels is February 9th-11th.

Default Touring weight

Hey Guys,
I did look it up and ROAR is at 1380 grams for Touring, the Magic City club will run with the ROAR rules for USGT and Touring with that weight. I really like you guys are combining the two classes like us.
Thanks and God Bless,
Bryan

Bryan, I think you are looking at an outdated rule book. I sent you some links for where the weight was changed last year. All the big races around the country are at 1350 and that is what we will be sticking with. Look forward to seeing you guys in a couple weeks.

Hopefully you'll run USGT and TC separately for the Northstar Classic?

At this point they will be ran together just like we would at a club race. If there are enough of both then they may be separated but it would require at least 5 cars of each for that to be considered.

That's a disappointment. A pretty big one. Running them together is pretty much eliminating one of them, probably USGT. Last year I'm pretty sure there were two heats of USGT at the Northstar. Seems it is being compromised to accomodate a couple of Touring Cars.

Ah well, it will be a cold day in an otherwise warm place before I'll race TC (or USGT in a TC class). Guess I'll keep an eye on entries for USGT to see if it meets the minimum requirement. If not, looks like one class for me

Edit: I'm just sitting here thinking of who all ran USGT last year. I know myself and Shawn K. from here, Buttsy, Kemit, Fish...who else? I guess I've got to grab this bull by the horns and find 4 other folks to commit, then hopefully others will come along again.

Other than Northstar, we didn't have more than 3 cars participate in USGT all year. It has all but killed itself. A good number of club members here traded in the USGT class in favor of WGT-R. I am sorry that you are so dissappointed by this but the direction the club has chosen to take is to try and accomodate the few left who want to race USGT as well as the few who would like to run touring car, and I would like to ephasize "few" for each of these. The truth of the matter is VTA and WGT-R have taken over as the largest classes and the others have fallen in numbers. It is the nature of the game for classes to come and go.

Flyer for the upcoming season with race dates. The November 4th date is tentative. We will need all hands on deck to get the track set up. Still working to get a move in date. Hopefully we can start setup October 31st. More to come on that.
