vance was off the track with a loose bolt for a bit and mike hit that wet grass and took the wall around lap 24 or so, that leavs brian or you.. hope you do not have to eat the hat.. yuk..

fmolzer 07-01-2003 08:49 PM

Ooops, better go and find some A1 to tenderise it with :ha:

fmolzer 07-01-2003 08:50 PM

Of course it would be cool for Brian to grap a trophy on his second race....

ammdrew 07-01-2003 08:54 PM

and would help me pass you in points...

fmolzer 07-01-2003 09:14 PM

I'll impregnate your tires with the A1 sauce before I willingly let you pass me in points :D

Tomorrow is Saturday, green, green, green.... Can't wait to get out there and run in circles again, it is verry addictive. is Team Riley ready to rumble?

no1stunna 07-13-2003 08:55 PM

Team Riley's first race didn't happen due to radio issues. Tried different channels, different recievers, different radio systems, and still had glitching. The car was searched over today, including the engine. The only thing that worked was Andrew's 3PK PCM radio. It was fine with that in, and I was able to drive the car up and down the street. I still havn't tried 27mhz reciever and module yet, I'll try that tomorrow. If that doesn't work, i'll have to get a 3PK with PCM. :(

spitfire 07-14-2003 03:07 AM

i'll take the M8 off your hands:sneaky:

thats of course if you buy a new system. i'll purchase you're old one

fmolzer 07-14-2003 11:35 AM

Too bad you had radio issues Riley, It iw very frustrating not to be able to race when you want to. I hope you will be at the track this Saturday though. Might as well start thinking about a road course set-up.

no1stunna 07-14-2003 12:04 PM

i hope to have the car running in the next couple days where i can actually drive it. then i'll be able to get some practice time in with it for saturday. i really want to make it and race, i want to be one more person that can promote fifth scale racing in the area.

fmolzer 07-14-2003 12:11 PM

Sounds great to me, these cars are just incredibly fun to drive and race, I find myself drawn more and more into 1/5 and loosing osme interst in the little toy cars, I never thought that would happen, but what do you know... Next year we should have 20 F1:s on the track:nod:

no1stunna 07-15-2003 07:26 PM

SUCCESS!!

I can run the F1 now, and I didnt have to get new radio gear. I had a bad motor. The car ran beautifully when the motor was switched out, no glitching at all. I'll be able to make the big race Saturday, but unfortunally I won't be able to make the next race a Hideaway because I'll be on vacation. I totally agree with you Fredrik, these cars are so cool. I too have lost interest in the little cars and am more drawn to fifth scale. -- I havnt even been able to run mine to its capiblity yet and I'm saying that. Then again, my interest was always there on the back burner, just nobody ran 1/5 until now. I wish I would have bought the F1 right away with you guys. I can't wait to see this class continue to grow. 20 F1s on the track would be incredible. I would love to see things grow to the point that we'll be running 1/5th touring cars at the other track. I know I'd buy a comp or maybe even a comp evo. Maybe after winter I'll be able to.

Jeff Ford 07-16-2003 12:30 PM

how do these 1/5th scales fare after they hit a wall?? Are they fairly durable or do they need to go on a jig for straightening after a hard crash..

ammdrew 07-16-2003 02:15 PM

stronger than any pther car i have drivin.. including the snake.. a wide open hit in the cement wall at hideaway will usually cost you about 9.60 in parts... and take a few minutes to repair

Jeff Ford 07-16-2003 03:14 PM

Must be solid framework and then the outer cheaper parts brake, there always has to be a weak link somewhere to protect the rest, sounds like a well thought out car if thats all that brakes in a hard crash. Is it something made inhouse at Hideaway or another manufacture?

ammdrew 07-16-2003 09:59 PM

fg.. harm makes one also, and crojet, but the croject is very hard to get us..
fredrick and myself are dealers and have full stock of parts at the track.. if you want to check one out call me and come on over.. or saturday at ramsey we should have 9 on the track..

no1stunna 07-16-2003 10:34 PM

9 on the track? Awesome! It keeps growing! Rock on!

and here is a completed front half.. the hydro brakes are a pian in the rear to setup, and do not seem to work any better than the cables.....

I would order a cable car next time around and save the dough.. unless of course you are just after the cool factor..

oh yea this kit while being top notch for quality and construction is not for the newcomer.. might as well say the instructions do not exsist at all, and what is there is in german.. you have to build it on rc knowledge, real car knowledge, and a schematic.....

no1stunna 07-17-2003 08:41 PM

looks good, can't wait to see it on the track.

ammdrew 07-27-2003 12:24 AM

watch the top one.. f1's do fly

http://www.mytsn.com/tracks/track.as...723&cm=5&adr=1

fmolzer 07-28-2003 11:54 AM

Since I managed to wreck my car in the race I got a rare opportunity to watch the race from the pits, man does it look cool with those F1:s going around the track. I think both Vance and Andrew passed me in points due to my wreck, it will be an intense final for the series, so much is sure....

fmolzer 08-12-2003 11:01 AM

2 more races at Hideaway and then another couple at the Shoe. If anyone is intrested in getting started in F1, I have a car for sale. I think I found out that it is too time consuming to keep 2 cars raceworthy, better just to focus on one, so the other one has to go. Perfect condition, email me if you are interested.

ammdrew 08-30-2003 07:59 PM

two more races points will be damn close, talk of a amb rc system and friday nights next year.... sounds great.. the shoe will run till it can not.. and we will all be looking for some winter nitro.. maybe in the dirt or one of the other options will work out...

ammdrew 09-07-2003 05:06 PM

another terrific night of racing at hideaway.. one more race night to go.. points are close..

hats off to jerry kohout for pulling a excellent win out.. driving to the front at the 25 lap mark and holding the filed off to the bitter end.. 125 laps later.....

pretty exciting having 10 1/5th f1's racing in the minneapolis area.. friday night at the shoe.. lets see if they will narrow the laptime gap and run closer to the sedans this week???

fmolzer 09-19-2003 11:41 PM

Today is the last race of the series, in the end, the racing has been so close that there are still 3 drivers that have a shot at winning the point series. I think it will be the race of the year. Everyone ready to do battle? .....

fmolzer 09-19-2003 11:43 PM

Also, as Brian M is moving out, thank you for playing Brian, hope to see you back here in the future. Also, we have two new names to look out for: Mike from Die Hard paint Ball just bought his F1 and Sandy picked up Brians car. The circus just grows and grows....

ammdrew 09-21-2003 11:14 AM

the season was very very cool.. one of the neat parts is every race is a trophy race...

we had a great variety of winners this season, and quite a few who won there first week out .. next year it will be even more challenging, as we learned a lot in the first season, and with the mix between oval and road course it should be very very cool...

Thanks to my sponsor, Rock N Roll Sound, Elk River Minnesota.. 763-241-4134
1-800-402-3944 for all your car sound system needs and window tinting.. ask for Mike....

Hats off to Fredrick Molzer for bringing home the points championship.... it will be a even tighter race next year.. 15 pt spread 1st to 2nd, came down to the last race.......

Matt D. 09-23-2003 01:37 AM

Hey guys, just wanted to say I finally made it up to Hideaway the first time this year and got to see you guys run. Awesome site, but I can't imagine how much cooler it would be to see them turn left and right. Wished I could have been up there more this year with my 1/4 scale but I had to do away with that, and simply didn't have time otherwise. Hope to see you all around next year, and hopefully I'll have another 1/4 scale car then.

If any of you guys need to know how to go faster around that oval, let me know... ;)

ammdrew 09-23-2003 06:11 AM

Friday nights at The Shoe in ramsey, and they will go left and right.... stop and say hi.. hwy 10 and armstrong blvd..

fmolzer 09-23-2003 07:38 AM

Yes, it was an awsome race. A little too rough... I think everyone was going all out for the win and no one (including myself) wanted to give up any real estate without a fight. For a while there I thought everyone was gunning for me, but after the race It was explained to me that I was only getting paid back my own medicine.... Oh well... I think the best driver performance of the night has to be Sandy. He stepped into the F1 racing 2 days before the race, shows up at the track with zero practice time, puts in about 20 minutes worth of practice and goes on to qualify 2:nd. Try to beat that if you can ! Sandy will definately be a strong competitor in the upcoming races at the shoe.. Thanks everyone that decided to join in the F1 circus over this amazing 2003 season, let's keep the class growing and developing as fast as ever possible. Gentlemen start your engines....

ammdrew 10-08-2003 06:04 AM
