Hi all the TCHR move has been postponed for a few weeks. We apparently have a few i's to dot, and t's to cross with the city before we can move in. At this point either mid, or late July are the most likely possibilities.

Default Battery brace update

The battery brace is finally coming back from machining. I probably won't get the prototype by the time I leave for Chicago Thursday morning. But hopefully next week I can bring it in for some crash testing

Also, I'm considering a double layer front shock tower with aluminum ball stud mount. I'll show you what I mean when I get back in town. I'd like to get your guys' opinion on it once I have some drawings.

does anyone have a good ballpark setup for the new location yet? I'd like to get it as close as possible before I go get stomped on at the new track tomorrow.

The Kurt Wenger gen2.5 set-up has pretty much become the standard set-up for the B4 at all tracks with minor adjustments depending on track conditions. Remember that small adjustments on this car can make a big difference in handling on the track, so try and make one small adjustment at a time and try it. I ended up with this set-up on saturday:

Front:32.5wt
Brown Springs
#1 piston
no limiting
2O shock position
1A camber link w/1 washer
25 deg. castor blocks
axle middle
.030 bump steer spacer
1/4 oz. weight on bulkhead
8176R3 front tires w/ 3/4 rear foam
arms level

Rear:32.5 wt
silver springs
#1 piston
.090 limiting
1I shock position
1B camber link w/2 washers
hubs forward
battery middle
2-1/4oz. weights in rear corners of the chassis
8089R3 w/ pro-line 2 stage inserts
CVD's slightly above level
12x2 KR geared 21/81

I have not compared the R3 compound back to back with M3 compound on the track, but if you have these tires in M3 give them a try I think they'll work good also, maybe better?

I ran this exact set-up on Saturday with the following changes: 35wt oil all around, front shocks unthreaded 1.5 turns, 2 deg anti-squat, battery back, M3 holeshots on the rear w/trinity grey foam,-1 deg camber. The car was dialed!!!!!

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing Just kidding, what do you mean front shocks unthreaded 1.5 turns? is that from the front arms being level?

Unthread the shock ends on the shock shafts 1.5 turns for more down travel. This will improve bottoming out of the front end over the large jumps, it really felt better to me over the cross over jump.

Hmmm didn't think of doing that will have to try it. Crossover is the worst place for me, mostly a mental thing probably.

Does anyone know about this http://www.teamrcv.com/modules.php?o...rticle&sid=258

I guess there is a new steering rack for the b4 and t4 with less slop.

Default New Steering Racks

Yes, they are on order. At this point they actually have not been released, but as soon as they are, we will have them.
