I'm thinking about starting the Winter point series next week. How long would everyone like to see it run. And how many throw-outs ?

krquamme 01-04-2007 11:08 PM

A winter series sounds great. I think a few throw-outs(2-3) would be nice. Would make people show up each week, but would be enough to offset a bad day or two.

gubbs3 01-04-2007 11:18 PM

I just finished my first 1/12th race up at Duluth/Superior. It was a blast! With any luck I might be able to make it over and give you guys a little more competition.

Troy

Mark O'Brien 01-04-2007 11:39 PM

Hope you can Troy !!!

10 weeks 2 to 3 throws sound good ?

Greg Amendola 01-05-2007 07:28 AM

10 weeks 3 throw-outs is pretty standard from what I've seen. It will be nice to race for a series title rather than free dinner, but I'll take both Rick

I've seen alot of racers in the results, we just seem to show up on odd weeks, I hope the points series gels us into one group...we might have 15-20 12ers there is we did and that would be cool!

Mark O'Brien 01-05-2007 07:44 AM

It sounds as if a few racers who have been waiting for that "special X kit" should be showing soon. So I'm thinking now that the Holidays are in the rear view mirror, things will pick up.

Ok Lets do this starting this coming Tuesday we will be running a 10 week point series. We will have 3-throw outs for those not able to make it on a weekly basis. We will have an end of Point Series Party Race with suitable awards, dependant on the winner. :sneaky:

I was just wondering, what do you guys run for rollout in stock 1/12th? I have a brand new Integy King of Stock motor and I ran 45mm rollout at Superior last Thursday which I think was a little too much. Also Mark, do you have any 64p gears on hand? I'd rather not roll the dice with Hobbytown.

krquamme 01-06-2007 02:36 PM

Hey, sounds good mark. Keep things going well with your job so you can have FUN with your HOBBY!

Do you stock any 75mhz crystals mark? I don't really care about channel, I just need a few sets.

gubbs3 01-07-2007 04:08 PM

Just so you guys know, there is going to be a two day race in Superior on Jan. 20-21. We are having a team race which will consist of Spec, 1/12, Sedan and Truck (all stock). There are a few teams put together already but it would be great to get a few more. Look here: http://www.lsrcc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1420

Just thought someone might like to know.

Mark O'Brien 01-07-2007 07:02 PM

Gubbs yup I stock 64 pitch spurs/pinions. 40 to 41 roll out.

Team pro - I can order crystals but do not stock them. By the way thanks for helping out the racer with his xxxs. Just to hecktic sometimes on Sundays for me to do things like that.

Great turn out today, three nice sized heats of 12th. Sedans and 18th scale also represented, thanks everyone !!!

krquamme 01-07-2007 08:23 PM

Mark-np bout the crystals, i have 69 and 70 now, so unless there are a lot of people w/ those, it'll be OK. Helping the kid with the xxx-s was good for me, now I'll be in the ballpark next week, hah!

Are we allowed to run rubber down there?

peded, put some foams on that thing  You can run rubber but even with traction goo it'll be slick :weird: We went to foams on the 18t's and there was a huge difference in handling!! I'm a believer.....when on carpet thou shalt run foams

Lot's of great racing today!! Racer turnout was monster! Thanks Mark for putting together a great place to race!!!
