Another great time racing tonight, thanks Mark. I love the window, and it looks like there's enough pit space for a ton of people. A lot of close races, I even finally felt like my car started to come around tonight and the driver did ok too. I just might have a little "Iceman" left in me. I'm sure I just jinxed myself.

Team Speed 01-31-2007 06:56 AM

Place is looking good Mark! The windows sure dress things up....and the new pit arrangement looks good. (Always a good problem when you need more pit tables) Hopefully professor Jari has a few car setup tips for me....and I'll be back to give it another try in a couple weeks. Florida is on the agenda next week...including a stop at the Snowbirds to cheer for Big Dan.

Yesterdays racing was a blast once again!! With the size heater that was in the pit area, it looked like the sun was setting!!!

krquamme 02-05-2007 10:05 AM

yesterday was a lot of fun. next week all you mini guys better watch out, i'm finally gettin' it figured out!

Mark O'Brien 02-05-2007 10:22 AM

Rick I do have the standard GTB in stock. I hear the only difference is the fan on top of the esc, which is removable.

The new heater was to match the Sunny disposition of the tanning racers.

johnnyshore 02-05-2007 01:37 PM

Another fun day of racin' at the Barn in the books! Nice & tight layout to get the fingers loosened up from the cold weather outside!

Rick Pfeilstick 02-06-2007 11:33 AM

[B]its race day, can't wait to break something

Got a new 12th chassis to play with, my mechanic is a little slow in building it though, as he doesn't have thumbs.. Here he is popping the last damper tube on for the final touch on the bare chassis build, next comes radio, hope no whiskers are lost on the hot soldering iron....

Mark O'Brien 02-07-2007 06:30 AM

Nice ride Jeff it will be cool to see how it runs. !!! The Teeth mark chasis preparation is a speed secret ?

Rick - Jaco double pinks ? Parma doesn't make them.

Greg Amendola 02-07-2007 08:45 AM

Race day

2pt increase Rick :P

What a night, new track record, TQ was decided by .03 seconds (Joe you lucky buggar). I'm really impressed with the good driving etiquette of all drivers, really good clean races. I'm still wondering wher Gary's "hire gun" driver was hiding tho, he and Nate are inproving fast.

Mark, if you are looking for double pink rears, Jaco makes them... No teeth marks, he's actually pretty gentle... And he wrenches on Helis too!

Please be kind and recycle, old RC car boxes make great cat beds... The boys wont let me take this one away, they also use it as a surfboard-sled, run and slide!

flyernemesis 02-07-2007 07:22 PM

Holy Cow Ffejdat, that is a lot of pussy hanging around your place.......

Ffejdat 02-07-2007 07:41 PM

Mitch- Pimpin ain't easy! You probably remember Tiger, the old cat on the box, he's 17 and the new cat, Simba, is 8 months, fun combo....

SkarTisu 02-07-2007 07:57 PM

Hey Ffej, it's Marshall here. How've you been, man?

Mark O'Brien 02-08-2007 07:44 AM

Good stuff Jeff !!! Somehow I knew the jokers would come out

Mark O'Brien 02-08-2007 11:06 AM

Rick GTB 4cell is in, and tires will be in Mon.

Travis S 02-08-2007 11:14 AM

Is this where all the cool kids are racing in the cities now days? :D

I still have my big r/c bag, soldering iron, and pinions... Just a few things short! Oh how I miss the days of r/c racing. I wish I had the money to get back into it right now.

Mark O'Brien 02-08-2007 11:32 AM

Travis - The mini class is as cheap as you can get. For a few hundred you can be playing. Check out the forums at my site thercbarn.com. If you want to try one come on down on a practice night.

Travis S 02-08-2007 02:55 PM

So what mini's are most people running? I have no clue what is out there since I have been out of the game for a while.

Mark O'Brien 02-08-2007 05:47 PM

The new rage may be the new recoil. See this thread. http://www.thercbarn.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=86

Its kind of like a mini TC4 and about as tunable, and MAP (minimum advertized Price) is $169.99. Its Ready to run with rubber tires, foam tires will be out in a few weeks. A set of 4 tires will price out close to what a pair of the 10th scale would. Parts are cheap and the fun factor is huge !

The 18t truck from Associated priced around the same ball park, is the biggest class for mini's right now. Some of the people running these trucks are doing similar lap times to the 10th sedans.

Attached a pic of mine...

Shock oil that comes in the shocks is about 20w. Replaced that with some 70w, and things feel much better. Looking forward to wheeling the car on Sunday! Should be a hoot!

Travis S 02-09-2007 10:34 AM

That recoil looks hot. Does this run in the same class with other mini's or will it be in its own class since it is 1/14 and not 1/18 scale?

johnnyshore 02-09-2007 10:47 AM

I think if we can get enough guys running them, they'd be in their own class, but for now they'll all run together. They Recoil isn't really that much bigger than an 18T.

Here's a side by side comparison pic from one18th.com...it's a small pic, but you get the jist of the size comparison. The Recoil is a little longer, but almost an inch narrower.

thanks mark, are you going to let me run brushless tuesday?

Mark O'Brien 02-10-2007 10:29 AM

Rick Pfeilstick 02-14-2007 09:24 AM

I THINK THOSE ARE ALL MINE

SkarTisu 02-14-2007 10:52 AM

Hey Ffej, are you able to fit that head through standard sized doorways, or do you need to enter and exit through the loading dock? LOL
