for this to work we would need onroad guys to help support the off road season and off road guys to help support the on road season whenever they
can. guess I will have to buy an off road vehicle

Uhhh I doubt this will happen this year.....Kinda late for that, considering it takes thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to get it together.....

I like to keep it real, to avoid getting let down. I would hate to see everyone get their hopes ups and then be dissapointed. It's not like anyone is saying there is a building in the process of being set-up, Chris is just seeing what the interest would be. Which obviously is going to look great on the internet.

So yea!!! It would be great if it happened! I will be there! But understand it is a LENGTHY and difficult process, so I'm just saying, don't plan to race this fall! Unless someone is going to throw a million dollars at it!

Chris,
It would be great if you can get an onroad track going in the cities. I know there is lots of interest in racing. Fargo guy's, St.Cloud, Alex, Detroit Lakes,Etc. I know I would support both all season. I didn't race much at TCHR the past two winters because I love to split my racing between gas & onroad.
As far as time to set up an on road track it wouldn't take long. I have ran weekend races many times and it only took a few hours to get going with the right people helping. An off road track will take a lot more time, but I am sure you would have many people to help build it.
Good luck getting this going & if you need any help.
Call me anytime.
Later

If I listened to Death by Stereo (Eric), I would be negative as well. My ears still hurt listening to that 'music'.

I wish I could race on carpet.

Whether the track gets going this winter or next spring we can get carpet racing going at a non-permanent similar to the Duluth on-road setup. This will happen if we can get enough people to help setup. We have access to the timing system and carpet. Getting this going and us racing with in the next month or two will help a permanent track get a base of racers as soon as it opens. The racers at TCHR on-road parking lot are willing to and are working on getting carpet racing setup twice a month and if we get enough of us to help we will race and we will help get a full time track going.

Everyone seems to know what THEY want, so here is what I want.

A huge air conditioned/heated building.
A huge hobby shop with unlimited parts for less than cost.
A huge off-road track
A huge on-road track
Red carpet in both entrances, track and hobby shop.
The track hours will be 8am-10pm everyday unless i want to stay later
The races will be run on whatever day i decide works best for me each week
practice will be $2
races will be $3 each class
there will be over 100 entry's every practice and race day.
unlimited food on site
who ever is working the shop will also order any other food that I want
there is someone annoucing laptimes during practice hours(very loudly)
that person is also running the races on race night.
i will have my own pit area saved
there will be showers and a locker room so i can shower (towels provided)
pop machines will have bottles for 10 cents each (no dr pepper)
Culligan Water jugs at all corners of every room in the building.
tire cleaning station for offroad
tire trueing station for onroad.
trash cans near every pit space for easy disposal of garbage.
spectator area for both tracks, capable of seating 100+ people.
fully integrated surround stereo system
Tvs everywhere
cable tv
wireless internet
laptops at hobbyshop, if you don't have one you can keep it for home use too

I am sure there is more, but i will wait till they get the track up and running before I decide to ask for a lot of stuff.
