Any Oval Racing Near MPLS-STP
#1

Hi all,
checking to see if there are any tracks that run oval near MPLS-STP area. Would be interested in indoor or outdoor, carpet or dirt! Recently purchased a 1/18 scale 1RC late model, and I think it'd be a fun class for any racers in the metro. Maybe there are others that would be interested in starting a series for this? I'm interested in 1/10th scale as well, but I'm not going to invest in another kit unless there's a place to run them.
Thanks for any input.

MN oval carpet racers at MMR. They have a FB page and race starting in the fall through spring. Otherwise right now the Toy Box in New Richmond, WI races oval a couple Sunday’s a month during the summer.

R/C Oval racing in the area:
- MN Carpet Oval Racers (indoor carpet oval at MMR in St. Louis Park). Racing with RJ Speed Legends, Traxxas Slashes, and oval pan car classes. Possible racing in the fall but usually picks up in October racing every other Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/mncarpetoval
- Toy Box (Indoor flat clay oval in New Richmond, WI) Off road track in the winter months that ran oval this summer. There are only a few events left. https://www.facebook.com/TheToyboxRcTrack
- Hobby Farm (indoor banked dirt oval in Ogilvie, MN) Mostly winter racing every Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/hobbyfarmrcclub
- Hoosier Speedway (outdoor clay tri-oval in Kellogg, MN) Summer racing every Tues evening and about every other Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/groups/138734156583575
- Tea's Speedway (indoor banked high bite clay oval in Rochester, MN) Racing Thur evenings and Saturdays in the winter months. https://www.facebook.com/teashobbyshoprc
-----------------------
There are more available if you're willing to drive 3+ hours away from the cities. As you can see, these tracks do most their communicating on Facebook and rarely or not at all here on RCTech. Feel free to ask me any questions and I can try and help. I also have a small carpet oval in my basement and race 1/28 Associated cars and 1RC cars but we're not really open to the public being that it is in my home.

Whoops, checking back in and I see my reply from last time didn't post for some reason.
Jason/Adam, thanks for the great info, and Adam thanks for the photos. Those all look like great facilities. I'll be starting up off-road at MMR pretty soon, so perhaps I'll start there w/oval this winter. I only have the 1/18th scale 1RC for now, so I'll have to pick up a 1/10 scale rig at some point.
Hope to see you around at one of these tracks come fall/winter.
Thanks again,
Matt

I appreciate the invite, but I'm already signed up for the DH Xmas Classic race this weekend. Stretched a bit thin running off-road and on-road already, so the oval might just have to wait for a bit. Do you get many people running the WGT-R cars? I see there's a class for it, but not sure if anyone turns out.

Teas Hobby Shop near Rochester is currently running indoor dirt oval Thursday nights and Saturdays. Everything is 1:10 scale. They just started a new Hobby class using Associated SR10s (my class). Their facebook is the most up-to-date but also have a website.
Hoosier Speedway outdoor tri-oval in Kellogg, MN (near Wabasha on the Mississippi) that I haven't been to, but others really like. They have a facebook group and a website.
