Default MACS - Mid-Atlantic Championship Series

Mid-Atlantic Championship Series

About:

Presenting the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS), a 4 round series spread out over 7 months in the Mid-Atlantic region. This inaugural season provides the opportunity to promote on-road racing in the Mid-Atlantic Region with a goal of growing racer interest and turnout. MACS will offer drivers the chance to compete in a fun and challenging series ranging from high-traction indoor carpet racing to world-class outdoor facilities to some of the best grass-roots parking lot racing available in the States. Special guest announcer Greg Sharpe will be on hand as race director for the 2018 season!

Schedule:

TBA. Big Thanks to the following tracks for joining the series!

180 Raceway (Indoor)
RC Car World (Indoor)
John's Mobile Raceway (Outdoor)
Jackson RC (Outdoor)

**Awards will be issued for TQ and Top 3 at each event!**

Classes:

USGT
F1
Euro Truck
Pro-Stock Touring (spec motor)
Modified Touring

Rules:

TBA.

Championship Structure:

Top Qualifier (TQ) = 1 bonus point

1st = 100 points
2nd = 96 points
3rd = 93 points
4th = 91 points
5th = 90 points
Subtract 1 point for each position lower.

Best 3 results from 4 rounds count.
If points are tied at the end of the championship, we will check who has more podiums 1st, 2nd, 3rd. If they are still tied then we will check who has more TQ’s. If still tied then we check who has more 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. We will never count a throw out round.

To receive points awards at the conclusion of the season, there must be a minimum of 5 participants in that class at each of the 4 events.

More Info to come!

Let's just make sure there are no bonus points awarded for attending all events. Don't need to mess things up like I did in 2013. Sorry again Larry and Herald Jr.

Thanks for the positive response so far guys! There is still a lot left in the works and I will keep adding more as we go.

Mini won't be added to the series unfortunately, but it can be run if there is time, and the host track decides to run them.

No bonus points for attendance. I may find another way to reward perfect attendance but all points must be earned on track.

Too cool. I was just thinking about something like this. Almost brings me back to the old MRL days. Going to be a blast no matter what.

Only going to be one day races this inagural season I'm guessing?

Thank you Robbie and anyone else involved, keep up the great work, it's much appreciated.

Yup, sort of similar to MRL. Hadn't thought about that but I guess it is.

Yes, 1-day events on Saturday only, unless weather becomes a concern. Maybe if the series grows we will look at doing 2-day events but for now I don't think we need to. Tracks like RCCW, Jackson and 180 may host Friday practice if they wish. But, that is up to them.

Thanks!

I'll probably pick up another TC for this. Will the spec motor be the same concept as what Jackson is doing now?

Nice! It'll be awesome to see you guys back in the on-road scene

Thanks FJ! The only spec motor I've run so far is the Team Powers setup that Jackson uses and it worked well there. I am testing 1 more tomorrow, hopefully. I'll base my decision on what feels like it will make racing action fun and exciting, and remain cost-effective. I think this class will be a lot of fun - it sure was a few weeks ago @ Jackson!
