Thumbs up New carpet Track in the Pittsburgh, Pa area

Looking at opening a Carpet Track in The Pittsburgh area.
Would like to concentrate on Oval, but would entertain other racing.
Looking to do 1 45x85 track and possiable a 20 x 60 Track.
Would like real novice classes and pro classes. Something for everyone.
How many would attend?
Any thoughts and Ideas?
Appricate any Input.
Thanks
John

Interested, nothing more fun than running legends on an oval. I have a group of friends from the south that is lookin for a place to race. Most of use also love running rubber tire touring cars, something such as the VTA class or as we used to run a class called open VTA. This class was run with all of the VTA rules, except for the motor rule, this was done to help keep costs down.

Are there still some oval racers in that area? I used to love racing at Steel City Hobbies. It was a great track and a sad day when they closed.

Shaffer's Full Steam ahead hobby shop is moving to the old Park furniture building the Juniata section of altoona. Its a big three story building. First floor will be the hobby shop. Second floor will be the carpet track. I'm told they have to be out of there current location in greenwood and into the new store by the first week of January.

Update....So I went down to Shaffer's today to buy a last minute Xmass gift for my niece, a Losi SCT. And talked to Mark a little more about his plan for his new Business location at the old Park furniture building. And he said that everything is on track for his move for the beginning of the new year. And he wants to get the track up and running asap. But it obviously will take a few months yet till everything comes together.

He already has carpet he sourced from down at New Pig. So then the conversation turned to barrier systems and what he would use. I think I have him pretty much talked into CRC click-track. Which I think it is without a doubt the best way to go.

He asked me to tell you guys to look him up at Shaffer's Full steam Ahead on Facebook. And to post him suggestions and so forth and let him know what you think. Ask him about the track. There is also talk of a pretty decent 1/8 scale track outside. But I'm really leaning on him about the carpet track first because A, I think that can be up and running faster and B Touring car and VTA is just what I like best.

If you are an RC racer message him on Facebook and add him to your friends list. Let him know who you are and that you want to race!
