2015 Region 2 8th scale races
Here's the 2015 Region 2 Caravan Schedule!
Here's a quick history of how this came about for those of you who are not sure what the hell this guy is babbling about. Last year it was apparent after 3 or 4 races that a large group of us were all migrating from track to track. At the end of every race day, we'd all be standing around and someone would say ok, where to next week. I had listed all the races I wanted to check out on my google calendar and would constantly be looking at it saying 'so and so has a race on ____'. It made life easier just to throw this list up. As a side effect, I started having a few of the local tracks message me asking if X was an open date because they wanted to schedule a race and not go head to head with another track. So the Caravan was born.
One thing to note is that I'm not listing club races. Most of us don't really do a ton of club racing, and when we want to, we all know our local tracks programs. Also the Summer Sizzler. Part of the reason our region is strong is because of this series. They do a great job with it and all the tracks support each other. On sizzler weekends, we encourage ALL the tracks to come check out the events. The tracks participating in it have agreed to shut down on those days. Now I understand that tracks that are 3-4 hours away from us aren't really going to impact things if they are open, but I know that the Sizzler folk would love to see a group of you guys come and attend one, two, or all of our races! Of course we love to travel and will try to return the favor and make it out to your tracks!
I also wanted to take a minute and point out that while this is basically for 8th scale racing, there are a few great tracks in the area that run 10th scale programs.
Cruizin With RC's and Family Hobbies in NJ, Pit Stop Hobbies in PA, The Track in MD, IRH in Long Island, all offer great programs. So if 10th scale is your thing, check them out too.

Next season I propose we get together, as track owners, who care about our races and have race date draft day. When you have tracks that take up 7-8 dates for "BIG" races in our short season it makes things very difficult on everyone. I think the race day draft plan could work well.

I hope it works out. I did this mainly for myself last year. Then in the pits people would always start asking each other 'where are we racing next week?' or 'when's the next big race?' We started to realize that every week was a big race if we all showed up. I made the post on here, made the Facebook page, and suddenly our weekly races were all over 100 entries. I can't tell you how many times I heard guys say how strong our region was last year, and I think a lot of it was because track owners started to work together and people started to really get around and hit other tracks.
