Default Great Job

Great job on your schedule this year. Sat & Sun Races gives a lot of options to racers and the fact your closed for the series races at other tracks speaks volumes of how you support rc racing in this region in general. Can't wait to check out t&L this year.

The x4 is a great charger for doing all of your smaller charging like receiver packs, glow ignitors, 2s packs, and starter boxes, but it falls short on guts when charging 4s packs as it will only charge them at 3.3 amps. Takes the better part of two hours to charge an ebuggy pack. If you use two 2s packs in your car, it's not too bad.

Is there an advantage from 4s over 2x2s? My hobbywing setup I just picked up is already set up for twin packs but was gonna switch over

There are a lot of newer chargers out there that I haven't messed around with but I'm sure someone will chime in. To me, anything that will charge a 4s at 10A is a pretty good choice if you run electric 1/8 scale. I use an x4 for all the smaller stuff and a Dynamite Passport Ultraforce for the 4S packs.

The advantage of running 2x2S is charging and reusing your 1/10 packs from over the winter. The disadvantage is they are typically heavier and the wiring is tougher to do clean and fit under the tighter bodies. I'm sure there are other pros and cons, but either way (2x2S or 1x4S) works just fine for most applications..... your choice.

I agree with Dak and I wouldn't go any lower than 10amp on a charger. I have bought about 3 separate chargers because Ive needed more power or have experimented with higher cell lipos. Best bet is to go above your expectations (if you can afford it). The other thing to consider is if you also will need a power supply or not. Most likely if you are going to charge higher than 10 amps, then you will need one. Otherwise you would just use ac/dc.

My last purchase was a Cellpro Powerlab 8 and I couldn't be happier. Its overkill but I won't need another charger for a long time. I did have to buy a power supply and went with a Protek Super pro 1000. You can buy pc power supplies for much cheaper but I didn't want to risk it. Here is the link for my charger and they also have a powerlab 6 which is a bit cheaper and would be a nice charger as well.

i have the Hyperion Eos 730i Net3 7S can charge a 4s 6500mah at 20amps in under 20min but i wouldn't recommend to do that all the time but if you are going to get a charger and 1 that needs a power supply make sure you get 1 that is double your max watts output on your charger
