they are ok. They are pretty quick for an indoor toy but i would not say its a applicable racing rig. I have 2 both have problems re centering and cant take a ramp worth a darn.

Default Two Thumbs Up!

My coworker and I each purchased one of these to race in our office (stress relief of course). His arrived today and we were both extremely impressed. The truck is very durable, and fairly quick.

The reports of 20-30 minute run times appear to be true as well; he ran it for around 30 minutes and it was still going when he parked it. We have short carpet in the office and the truck runs great on it. It ran fairly well out in the parking lot too.

Overall, initial impressions are very good. The radio is nicer than expected, doesn't feel as cheap as some of the micro radios I have tried and the truck drives and tracks well. For $49 it's a steal. Can't wait until mine arrives.

It's been about a month since my last post and I have driven my SC28 numerous times at home and in my office. I am still thoroughly impressed and can't believe these don't get more attention. My truck has been driven pretty hard and still looks and runs like new. I purchased an HPI Q32 USB charger (works great, although Associated sells their own USB charger now) and I painted a custom body for my truck. I still think it's the best $50 I have ever spent on rc gear. Perfect for rainy days or indoor spaces when you want to grab something quick and kill some time. Runs pretty good on pavement too. Still two thumbs-up.

So I finally picked up one of these little guys. and added an FPV camera for whipping around the house when I can't get to a track:

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

It's a fun little beast. I brought it to the studio tonight, but didn't record video.

It's got a Q25 camera in it right now, connected directly to a 1s battery. Tomorrow I'm going to wire it directly into the system, so that it just use a single 1s battery (right now it has one for the car and one for the cam), and so the cam and car turn on/off with the switch. I will also be able to use the charging port again.

Don’t know about the waterproofing, but sign me up for the stadium truck version - that’s more suited to my personal preference anyway. My coworker and I are still running our SC28’s, and both are still going strong after some serious abuse. My arms are starting to sag from all of the pounding, and my front end is so loose you wouldn’t think it would drive well - but it does!! I will replace some of the plastic parts soon and will more than likely buy the RC28T as well.
