Blind old man

I'm upgrading my losi mini t 1/18 stadium truck. I bought it used, and noticed the motor plate was modified. Bought a new one from Ebay and had to make the same modification. The holes on this motor are further apart than a stock motor. I bought a new pinion gear set only to find out that the holes are too small to fit the shaft. Looking for a new motor, the shaft is sqare. The stock motor has a knurled shaft and the other.motor shaft has a flat spot. No info on the motor that the previous owner had in the car. I think I may have to ream out holes in the pinion gears.

sounds like one has a pressed on pinion and the other is a standard shaft i dont think you will get far drilling pressed on pinion then drilling 4-40 hole to tap..just by correct pinion gear of correct pitch..
