Like i said, get both. Any of you get, you need to swap eletrics in a near future. Servo is to get rid out of the box...i don't know why they seen like a China brand... horrible! Then motor and later ESC.
Think like you are getting a kit to buil.

Otherwise they are not so good. Ehhehe, medium. But at chassis level they are great!

Confusions, confusions... any of them will be great. They both had come to fill a fault there was on the market for 4x4 buggy's in mini scale. There was only basically the Kyosho Mini Inferno that is stupid in stock form for our days of brushless power...by the way... take a look at one of mines:

-These need to be a complete rebuild to act like this and survive! I got mine for more then 4 years

Never mind. The Merv is out of my price range. What other ones are good for under 300$

No offense
It's actually not Chinese and there are several vendors of parts in the US.

If you just look there's tons of threads on this brand in this very forum.

It's better than the merv or either of the losis but hey spend your money how you would like...

No offense

For me I have three pretty big time hobby shops around me and between them they have about 5 parts for the losi mini 8ights so I usually order parts online anyways. When the buggy first came out the part shelves were stocked but they're popularity has fallen off.

The mini 8ight truggy was a pretty big miss by losi in my opinion. Requires a ton of hop ups and the electronics are pretty much useless for anymore than light 2s use.

Do some research. Read through the threads.

Lc racing and goes by tacon. You might be more familiar with that brand?

Anyways good luck on your decision.

Mine 1/14 losi's where bought second hand!

BUT if you have 300$ for new i will consider 1/10 scales or even 1/8 scales to!

Thunder Tiger ST4 is a good +300$ around RC

Tons of fun once upgraded appropriately. Every hobby shop carries parts for these and ebay chop shops are really cheap for spares. But like I said expect to want to upgrade alot of things.

Brushless is the way to go. Lower center of gravity, more power, less maintenance.

Is it durable out of the box? What do I need to do battery wise if I want to stay NiMH for the moment?

It's pretty durable out of the box powered by the nimh that comes with it.

2s you'll want to start upgrading bits
3s you'll need to upgrade lots
