..to add on to my last question,
has anyone revised the stock shocks? I was thinking maybe different springs, different weight oil? ...I may try experimenting on one since I have a complete set gathering dust.

Sadly the stock shocks aren't actually oil filled and they can't be modded to hold oil.

Just picked up a set of losi mini shocks ....NIB for $10 shipped.
So may ditch my efforts to revise the stock ones. Also ordered the matsuno (sp?) shock towers to go w the new shocks.

Where’d you find the losi shocks? Im assuming you’re talking about the plastic ones.

Yes the plastic ones, -but they are oil filled and better than the stock carisma ones.

There are a few people selling the aluminum ones, but they start at $50 for a set of 3 (missing one) and another set for $170!!!

I am really new to this, but I own a GT24 Truggy and shocks should be called pogo sticks, compared to my Prerunner 1/18 they are just awful.

I think if you order these

Hot Racing Kyosho Mini Z Buggy MB-010 Aluminum Oil Shock Set KMB38TD01 search on ebay, stupid forum will not let me post links.

and these

Kyosho Mini-Z Overland Pillow Ball Set Over Land KYOMV14

its probably the cheapest oil filled shock option for the GT24 series.

not being able to post links is lame.

Hey Billy,
what kind of lap timer are you using?
I have a 1/24th course in my garage and would love an inexpensive lap timer so I can see where I am at and start keeping records, etc..
(I've tried the phone app timers and can't get any to work, they're all a PITA).

well it’s right there in the picture. Zeppin voice lap timer. Though I’ve never had the voice feature work. Involves some kind of Bluetooth thing. I’ve had it for almost 2 years and might be best thing I’ve bought. I figured I did roughly 15,000 timed laps over the 30 weeks from racing ending last fall to starting up this May. And yup, I keep record of them. Not all.
There are 2 different sized transponders for it. 1/10 and micro, use the micro in MiniZ and GT24. And over weekend on my F1. The MiniZ sized are designed to plug directly in, but unfortunately AAA batteries are not powerful enough. So I had the connection changed to use the Carisma 1s, or any like 1s.
I found it originally on eBay. Seller is RC Mushroom. I’ve since bought direct. And there Customer service rep, also think he’s the actual company, is excellent. I’m very close to buying a second one.

I am intrigued, and very interested.

Does it come w/ a 1/10th and micro sized transponder? ..for the micro transponder you are powering it via your 1s lipo ?

I saw some on eBay and RCMart has them for around $83 or $85 (can't recall at the moment).

it comes with 1 1/10 transponder. The micros you’d have to buy separate. It can only do 1 car at a time. Yes, I’ve had the connection changed to used a 1 or 2s battery. Had couple of the 1/10 transponders also changed to use same battery.
Some of the 1/10 transponders work great plugged directly into receiver, some didn’t.

Could not remember if RCMart had them or not. It was around $100 when I bought mine. I’ll have to look again.

nothing on Facebook other then a new body for their scaler truck. The 1/24 lineup is supposed to have been talked about in their podcast on Big Squid.

https://www.bigsquidrc.com/big-squid...-gray-carisma/

I’ve only listened to few minutes. Phone keeps restarting it every time I stop. And at 90 minutes it’s too long for me to keep starting over
