The Losi Mini 80808 Project

This thread is an informational thread for anyone interested in modifying thier existing Losi Mini 8 with a Castle Creations 0808 4 pole 4100 kv motor. I purchased a set from my LHS that came with Micro Sidewinder ESC for $89. I am looking to build a Mini 8 that is just designed for pavement and speed runs. With this configuration I will not be racing on dirt, clay or sand and no bashing what so ever. Just concrete and asphalt for flat out SPEED!!!!

CURRENT MODIFIED CONFIGURATION as of 4/28/2013
__________________________________________________ ______
Motor
· Castle Creations 0808 4 pole 4100 kv motor
· Robinson Racing 20t 48 pitch 2mm bore pinion gear

ESC
· Castle Creations Micro Sidewinder ESC

Battery
· Venom 2000 20C 2s Lipo

Chassis
· Tbone Bumper

Everything else will be considered stock if it is not listed above. I want to provide the exact information on what my Mini 8 is running to aide in the creation of even better ones then mine. This is not a testosterone display but merely a source of information gathered from literally hundreds of hours spent here reading and designing something that I think we all will enjoy learning about and watching it run.

More soon...

Really? is that all you can successfully contribute to this thread? First off im assuming, in your case individually, that you have ignorantly misspelled WITH in an ** spell reffering to WITHOUT. If you could see, let alone, read youd see I have 4 posts. Im sure being the slurp you are, you would know that I am still not qualified to post pictures, hence the more soon ending.

Admistrators? is this how lethal this place is?

I have been thinking about getting a 0808 motor, I can't wait to see the results. SUBCRIBED!!!

Cry me a river. This is how you draw attention to yourself from the mods...good job. First off don't get your panties in a bunch dude! That term I used, is used all the time when ever somebody starts a thread, Forum slang if you will.

Secondly I already told you that that speed controller isn't gonna work for you. You need the micro pro to do what you want it to do. That combo is for those little 1/18 scales. Call castle if you don't want to believe me, I've already been through this. Watch your mouth...

I'm interested in the results, but could do without the profanity and personal attacks. How about taking a moment to edit them out?

20mm can seems a little small for a 1/14 scale.

Why is that? And lets say a 2668 is a ten, what would a 0808 be?

Again, watch your mouth. I didn't ruin anything, you did with that mouth of yours.

Come on guys , no need for the bickering ! Keep it up and the Mods will come in and close this thread :deathstar

Grim is right though threads like this are useless without pics and that Micro Sidewinder wont be enough unless you find some way to cool it down .

Good luck !

It would be nice if you edited out your profanity on a total of 3 posts now. This is a kid friendly place. You can hit the edit button on your own posts and just space bar them out. Also the personal attacks, critiques or civil disagreements are OK, but name calling seems to cause problems. You can edit those out as well, chances are the mod is busy, it would be good if you edited it your self instead of waiting for him to drop a hammer on you.

Closing this one down. I cant post pics so its pointless. Well try again at a later date

A 7.5

Cm26 is just way more torque and speed man. 808 ran smooth powerband was more predictable and easier throttle control but for all out speed and bad assery 26mm can seems to be perfect for 1/14th scale
