1.5mm is the most common size on the car. Others are 2mm and 2.5mm.
Most of the nuts are 5.5mm.

Yea ok, so I'm using a 1.5mm hex and I'm still stripping... Might go buy a high quality single wrench for this car xD

PS I ended up finding out that it was the set screw that came loose. Good thing I don't need to replace the whole diff :P Losi loctites areas where it doesn't need it and vice versa... shameful...

Mashim, it's not the size of the wrench or quality of the tool like i thought it may have been, the size of the screws is NOT 1.5, it's slightly bigger, there is just enough slop in the heads to make them strip easy. The little hex wrench that comes with it is nice and snug but it's a pain to use..

Ahh ok thanks! I wonder if there is a better replacement set of screws to use instead.

Problem has been solved previously. Its just the screw tops problem, there is no hex that will give a direct fitment without possibility of stripping.

Rcscrewz makes a set for the mini 8. I have a set for my 8ight and 8ight-t and they always seem to work well. They aren't nearly as soft as the manufacturers screws so they won't strip out as easily.

Could someone please measure the distance between the M8 battery strap loops? In other words......I need to know the maximum usable battery length in millimeters. I plan to use a dremel to grind off the little plastic corners that hold the stock size battery....so I can fit a larger lipo. Will this work? My mini-eight is being shipped at the moment.....and I could order some lipos before it comes.

jwm2, how does your driver fit in the screw head? Is it loose like the stock mini 8ight screw heads?

Nitro, 102 x 31 x 19 mm

To get like a higher height without messing too much, you just put spacers below the battery mounts. You can prob boost the height to like 21mm.

My drivers fit perfectly. They are eds brand tools. I learned a lesson with cheap losi tools. Too many twisted heads and stripped out screws and I finally said screw it and bought a high quality set. Since then I don't strip out the heads (besides the steering screws on the m8, but that's due to loctite) and they fit perfectly, no slop what so ever.

Hah I don't think I can fork out that much being a teenager xD

I notice my esc is getting some pretty high temps at like 130... is that normal? I was thinking of getting a mini fan and mounting it to the body as exhaust. I have seen them around but idk where to get them. suggestions?

It's not news just ask around. The losi tools have very cheap bits. Trust me. The eds tools are much higher quality but also cost 5x the price. You really do get what you pay for. It's like comparing craftsman to snap on. The difference is night and day.
