Default losi 1/16 Brushless

Hey, i just bought the Lipo 3cell for it but i am looking to get more speed out of it. What gearing would you guys recommend? i still want to have the torque and of course a high speed.

Short answer is its a trade off, high speed=low torque, so in essence you can't have both.

Easiest way to tweak is change your pinion. Smaller pinion gives more torque, larger pinion gives more speed. Although the larger the pinion the more strain on the motor so beware of heat.

I have a 1/16 2wd buggy and a 1/18 4wd buggy and with a 4300kv brushless there is no shortage of torque even with a larger pinion, but things do heat up a bit, so make sure to check your temps often after a pinion change.

It more than just a certain set of gears, it also depends on what KV rating your motor has, and what size wheels your running, how heavy your car is etc. there are some charts on maximum top speed possible with different pinion, spur and motor KV ratings but none of them really say anything about torque because it's much harder to measure. Just grab a pack of different pinions and try them out.
