mnimh batteries

do nimh batteries run the same when they are cold....for example if i leave them in my car for the day...should they run alot different than if they were sitting in my house on my work bench...it is currently 30 F...and they seemed to have poor performance in my merv.....just thought i would as.

thanks in advance

Yes, I am unaware of any battery type that is not affected by cold temperatures. The chemical reaction is basically just slowed by colder temperature.

so let them warm up before use...or recharge?

Topping them off will also warm them up.

Around 30F I would just top them off and let them warm up themselves, any colder and you would probably want to warm them up before charging and/or using them. Assuming you have a safe method of doing this, of course.
