Hitec HS-65MG Servo in AE 1/18
 

Hi folks...I'm new to the micro scene after 10yrs in 1/8 nitro offroad. Picked up two SC18s for my 6 y/o son and I to play with at home. Upgrading a few things thanks to the great input on this forum. Purchased two Hitec HS-65MG servos...

Unable to mount these servos in the SC18s. The stock servo screw is M2.3 x 5mm and it appears I need something close to M2.3 x 10mm to use the AE Hitec Servo Saver (21049).

So...what servo saver are folks with the 65MG (not HB) servo in their SC18 and where can I locate a few M2.3x10mm screws?

The screw that I use is from JR the part# is JRP980187 it is a M2.3x15 screw. I bought the Associated part#21326 servo saver it comes with 4 different horns and one is for the Hitech servo. Hope this helps.

I used the hs65mg In my rc18t. Fits nice. Had to use mounting blocks to mount it. I had a rough time finding the screw for this servo too. I ended up placing a call to Hitec and they sent me the screw free of charge. It was 2.3mmx10mm.

I had mines mounted in my micro rs4 for years sitting on the shelf and decided to install it on my 18r. Instead of screws I ended up shoo going it works like a charm.

I found some that work from my TREX250 heli. I'll dig up the size and post.

i just put one of these servos in my 18r. Out of the box it did not work right. Also the mounting blocks that come with the AE servo saver kit do not line up with both holes in the chassis.

I used an align ds410mg in my sc18 and besides having to trim the inside servo tab and shaving .5mm off each side of the servo hold down bracket it fits perfect. Even the stock servo saver bolt fits. :D

well i dont think its the servo that is bad. I think its just that the eurus even no normal settings is too much for the hicrap servos to handle. I have 3 of them that all do the SAME thing.
