Default Mini revo bellcrank

I bought a HR aluminum bellcrank and broke 2 servos because it doesn't turn at all with the spring in it. I had 3 springs in a little bin so I decided to cut one down to see if I could get it to turn enough to save my next servo if I crash.

Pretty much my fault that I broke 2 Hitec MG servos now, but what should I do? I suspect the motor broke because I took one apart and saw all the gears pretty much intact; would Hitec repair it for me? I just one 2 more 85MGs off of ebay so I'll do my best not to break these, lol.

I've upgraded ever weak spot that I've personally seen except for my shafts. Planning to get CVDs all around, some more wheels (crt.5's would fit?), and maybe the center diff. What does the center diff do again? I read that it distributes power a little better on the front vs rear?

Thanks
