Default SMC 1650mah balance connector too small?

The SMC website says it is a jst-xh connector, but it is smaller than the jst-xh connectors on my 1/10 scale SMC batteries. Is there an adapter? I can't seem to find one by doing google searches.

If this is a fairly new lipo, it should have a jst balance conn. Email SMC and ask why yours doesn't.

Thanks for the reply, it had not occurred to me to email them. I did, and I was surprised at how quick of a response I got. They said it was a direct replacement for Losi packs, so the connector is whatever would come with a Losi pack. (Although their website does say it's XH...)

After researching online I led myself to believe a Losi connector is the same as a Thunderpower connector. It turns out this is not true, at least not on this pack. I went to the hobby shop armed with this knowledge.

They said they didn't have anything, but sold me a bag of connectors (align (xh) to thunderpower, E-flite EFLA229) and I planned to chop off the XH part of it and solder it in place of the existing connector. I did not need to do this, because the 4 pin thunderpower side of the connector does fit the Losi connector, it even clicks, but there is the extra unused pin. I just made sure I lined up the positive terminals. It works.

If there's one thing that needs to be standardized in the RC/battery industry, it's the balance connectors. What a mess!

Amen that that!!!

I've had others say what what quick response they've gotten from them too, so I thought they'd get back to you quickly. Glad they've cleared it up.

If everyone would just label their balance conns it would improve the mess tremendously. All they'd have to do is cast a letter or two into the conn like they do with servo saver inserts, how difficult would that be?
