Mini Offroad Tracks

Anybody run on mini tracks? Curious what the dimensions generally are for the small scale tracks. I'm building one in my backyard and so far it's about 15'x30' or so. I rototill a bit up, run on it for awhile and then till some more if I think it needs to be bigger. The current size is ok, but probably will grow by another few feet each way. Then it'll be time to get some dirt for jumps and berms. Have quite a fun time offroading the little bugger (18T).

Any pics of mini tracks would be cool too.

Thanks : )

I have done this in the garden several times before and found that even for mini's you need 5-6 foot lane widths or you won't have room to pass your friends. This means a bare minimum width of 20 ft. I usually did about 30X60 tracks and still had 10-12 second lap times if it flowed nice.

I run on the same tracks as I run my 1/8th scales on , my area is about 100x60 ft , here are some pics from today ....

i like it but are you going to add more jumps?

Yes , this is just after I laid down the drainage tile , there will be a couple more jumps and a whoop section .

I have my own mini "1/18" and I agree with RC Dad 110%. I went to scale mostly so on paper 4' wide lanes looked more then enough. During building I quickly realized this is far tighter than I first thought. So I bumped it up to 5 1/2 feet wide. Its great with my brushless vendetta but if there was 6-7 people on it, it would be mayhem. You better off making it to big then to small anyhoo. Atleast then you can run 1/10 scales on it aswell. I say go 8' wide right off.

Very nice, I like the ramps you used down at the berm, looks like fun!

Glad to see the replies and the pics, thanks guys. 1/10 scale sized is out of the question for me, wife finally figured out it is not a garden...lol
Reality is the track will never see more than two cars on it. Generally it will only have one and that will be me. I probably will not put down tubes or anything, but probably build more of an obstacle type thing with a couple berms and some jumps. Kind of like a monster truck or x-games dirtbike coarse. If I ever get it done I'll post a pic.
