I got some new alloy parts the other day, now the green T-bodied micro now looks like this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...SCN4407_30.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...SCN4409_30.jpg I also got a used blue DT body and I like it much better. The blue body and chrome wheels matches the blue/silver alloy parts pretty well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...SCN4424_30.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...SCN4425_30.jpg Someone on another forum asked about watermarks earlier and it got me thinking, so I found a Photoshop CS3 and started playing with a photo. After adjusting the colors a little, refining the sharpness and making my own little watermark... this is what I came up with: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...424_Pscopy.jpg Not sure if it's technically a watermark... but it looks good. I found a tutorial on youtube and I did what it showed but added a few tweaks. |
they look really nice i like the blue one with the tire on the back and did u custom all of it?

Thx.
The one with all the alloy came with the 3Racing front bumper, front pivot block and the brushless motor and esc. All the other alloy parts I put on myself as well as the 3-wire receiver. The blue body and shocks I got from someone on another forum, he put the wheel on the back and did all the decals. Unfortunately, I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with this particular micro. I asked the guy I bought it from to include a receiver (for extra $) but when it was delivered I learned it was an FM Synth and I don't have any matching radio gear. 2 days later my English Bull Terrier chewed the wheels off. It sat for several months due to lack of funds until the guy I got the blue body from sent me a couple wheels for free. I had an issue with the one for the rear as it wouldn't go on. So I stuck a small screwdriver in it to open the hole, which created a problem tightening the wheel nut. After I was done messing with it, I noticed the screws holding the steering link were backed out a little. As I was tightening one down the screw broke in the aluminum drag link. The body, springs and some other micro stuff arrived before all the other alloy bits. After I put the shocks on I went to put on the alloy c-hubs and knuckles and noticed one of the c-hubs already had a broken screw in it and then I broke one in a knuckle. After the other alloy stuff arrived and I was installing it, I realized the rear axles and wheels have a flat spot (so the axles turn the wheels). Opening the hole on the wheel removed that spot. I had a spare-spare wheel so after I got that on and put the new receiver in, I went to plug in a battery for a test run and a damn battery lead detached from the esc. It's been one thing after another with this micro and I'm still too irritated to try and work on it again. I'm hoping that when this thing is all done and running it'll be worth all the profanity and aggravation. |
Keep pluggin away at it spliff , once you get them dialed in they are a blast !

I've had no problems with my red one and love it. Tho I bought it new and the only upgrades have been bearings, threaded axles and alloy wheel nuts. I also loosened the gear case a little which freed up the diff a bit and got some losi 2s lipos. I don't think the red one will go brushless. When the stock motor goes I'll get the Atomic BB II. And when I afford it, the red DT's alloy theme will be titanium and red.
