TEK18XX - Outdoor race-truggy

Yes...at last...it will be off.. everything is ordred besides the centreshaft... i need some CF or glasfibre 4mm

The truck will be using Exoteks TEK18X parts, but will recive a 10-20 mm longer bottom, top and centreshaft..not decided yet about the length..

A friend will CNC a new chassi for me:sneaky: with the DP wt arms and cvds..some MLST tires and rims..i think it will be a real cool outdoor "killer"..

just out of curiosity, why 4mm? that seems excessively thick to me. the exotek 18x is 1.8mm i believe 2mm may be easier to find but 4? the chassis will have almost no flex/grip, especially if your running dirt.

Uhhh 4mm???? - Looks like two 1,5mm sheets & one 2mm sheet (am I missing something??).

Thomas usually knows what his doing - 4mm doesn't sound like him.

I'd like to know more about his thoughts about the centre shaft.

Thomas P 07-25-2008 10:19 PM

Ohh,no the chassi will be in 2mm bottom 1.5mm topdeck

The centreshaft is 4mm

GH Racing 07-31-2008 05:51 PM

looking good :)

morati 07-31-2008 06:10 PM

Wow! Looks incredible Thomas....Great Job!

Thomas P 07-31-2008 10:35 PM

Thanks GH and Morati.

It wont be 20mm long as i wrote in my erlier post..i will only be doing it app 5-8 mm longer than stock. the goal is to still be able to use

jconcept,proline bodies (truck)

i think im on little deep water here, but the "length" il be doing..

where should it be, from centre bulkhead and rear?, or front?

Thomas P 08-01-2008 08:43 AM

Bought some lunsford kit to my TEK car..and they where "regular" not "small RC18"...so they are fat...they wont fit in topdeck without dremeling...

So i found some @ home ASC6271 fiting ACE even with Lunsford ballstuds..

so if you are out, or cant wait for a kit, buy some loose t-buckles and then thoose, it is 12 in a P..

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...S5031339-1.jpg

dont miss to juice up the buckles with some lubricant

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...X/S5031341.jpg

Done...Left Stock Lunsford, right AE smaller B-cups

CREWMAN 08-01-2008 10:18 AM

how do you like the losi shocks i have seen a couple guys do this to there rc18t

Thomas P 08-01-2008 11:07 AM

Hmm, they are slightly longer so i do not know how they work on a non Widetrack conversion RC18. as usualy on this dampers the seal wont hold..2 ios a must, and that is tricky to get it non leak...beside that they are good...not sure yet, the longer arms produce another "effect" not know what that terms is called... but i hope i can test them Sat...:D

Thomas P 08-02-2008 11:43 AM

Update: TEK18XT

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...X/DSC_0020.jpg

Man do i luuuv thoose car or what??...the truck was waaay to soft and with the extreme long traveling on rear arms, the car felt little "wormie"..didnt jump very well...

went from 20 to 27.5 oil, moved the rear shocks on arms (new hole) 6.2mm out... and put in 45w oil in front...man this is it...to bad it began to rain, so i didnt had time to test it fuly, but 1 pack, and it is good..

morati 08-02-2008 12:04 PM

Makes me wish I still had my RC18.....
