That has been there for a while, I didn't actually post a "resume"......Yeah that is all I have ever had, I just bought them both off ebay last week and that is all I know about R/C.

Oh and wait I actually stripped out the stock one so I only know about one car let me correct that for you

Hello,

Just my 2 cents...

Sorry to hear there are so many "smoking sessions" with the Xcelorin. I actually purchased mine 2 a little over a week ago, 6.5T combo. I have it installed in my Associated T4. I have run both 2s and 3s lipo's. The only gripe I have had so far is the truck would "stall" when going from 1/4, 1/2 throttle to full throttle. It would stop with no steering until I released the throttle and then pulled the throttle once again. I downloaded and installed their latest firmware update and it seems to have fixed it for now. No issues running 3 Q's and 1 A Main this past weekend. It def sucks for all the people out their purchasing these units and getting burned. Hopefully mine will continue to function properly. I will post if anything does happen though.

My 1/36 excelorin esc burnt a chip out.I sent it to horizon and got a brand new one back in 2weeks.Now it seems my motor is dead so I am sending that back also.I have an excelorin setup in my tamiya gb-01 and have had no problems with it whatsoever 3 mo's later.I think the main problems are with the 1/36 kits ,thats what I have heard most complaints about

well i have burnt up three of them as of today....2 7400's, 1 9400.
motors are strong esc's are crap...horrizon guy got smart with me today and tried to tell me that it was somthing that i did... so we argued and eventually he said he would replace it..and i said that i would sell the new one they send me and but from a better company....and have nothing to do with horizon hobby again...so in a week or two i will have a xcelorin brushless system for sale....

How about some of you ppl listing the gear ratio you're running and what vehicle you've put it in. Losi seems very specific in the difference between what's tolerable and what isn't - and overgearing has led to more blown motors and esc's, brushless or not, than anything else.

I don't know what you're saying or trying to suggest, but MY point was that most RTRs come with gearing to get the most speed-wise out of these cars in their stock set-ups (esc and motor). But that Losi has rather specific gearing recommendations, different than what comes stock, for use with their xceleron units - and that not following the directions can lead to the oft-mentioned smoking problem as it could with any motor upgrade.

I was just answering your question as to what gearing I was running thats all.Do you have a link to a page with the recommended gearingfor this system? If so I'd really appreciate it.I wish they would print a gearing chart in the manual.
