The system is an excellent match for a Vendetta or Vendetta ST. They outsell the competition in my area. .6 module is the right pitch for the 'detta'.
I agree that .5 should also be available, and I imagine it will be.

I dont think they will either but the first release or versions seem to be geared towards the larger 1/18 vehicles....which is ok by me i have a few of each.....
I would believe the offering of pinions is to help some people find them.....
they may be redily available but Novak is helping by making them available.

Ok then, where are the pinions for the Mini Inferno and (I think Recoil as well) then? They are both larger vehicles and use .5 module.

IRC/Trinity may as well.

Novak2, can you comment?

back in the day when i owned the half eight i called kyosho and was informed by there tech dept that the half eight was a mod.6....there was tremendous problems with noisy and poor meshing with them. I hate to say this but from what I have been seeing and hearing the half eight is on the road to extinction.....

I believe they mis informed you as per I raced with someone with a half 8 and it wasn't .6 pinions that meshed with it AFAIR. Case in point: Many people have used Mambas with a 2mm shaft (even though its underpowered) before .6 module pinions became available in 2mm. Which either they all used one heck of a thin coupler, or had extremely noisy cars which motors even heated up even more beyond the added weight.

We are arguing over details. Lets let Novak let us know what was behind their .6 module alone.

I checked with Adnan today about the decision concerning the 0.6 mod gears. He said that we want to make sure that there are strong, durable (readily available) sets of 1/8in pinions for the Three-80 motors when we release them.

We haven't decided whether will will tool up for additional gear sizes in the future.

Running the Three-80 motor with a GTB speed control should be OK.

Tell Adrian to talk to Mike (Exotek) since he is local to you (Mike piped in as well about the pitch mess up). In short, Adrian has made a large mistake. THERE ARE NO .5 pitch 1/8th pinions. So you are screwing your largest audience over. The Robinson pinions for metric (.6 module=48 pitch metric) are quite strong, while the Tamiya version are quite available.

I really think Adrian got these pitches confused. You have enough time between now and then to correct this. Versus release and suddenly get complaint after complaint from the largest vehicle market shares.

(It is Adrian VS Adnan?)

Seriously Novak2, this is quite a large deal. You will release them and find the sales will be very lackluster for the .6, while at the same time find that there will be a inundation of inquiries for .5. Well, if you choose to ignore this, don't let it be said your company wasn't warned!

Actually if you do, to me it just shows a basic disconnect from the smaller size community.

Thanks for your input-----I have forwarded your comments to the engineering department.

If you have time, could you send me a link to the 0.6 mod gears that you described.

I think the 0.6 mod 1/8" bore pinions by Tamiya and Robinson are for 1/10 scale vehicles with like 70T spurs. They start from like 16 tooth.

For the 1/18th and 1/16 scale, you're going to want pinions from as low as 11 tooth.

Robinson makes them down to 12T.

I may be reaching here....
There is a rumor that Kyosho is coming out with a new 1/18 scale vehicle.
Novak made a brushed esc/rx for Kyosho w the Half Eight.....
Maybe we are gonna see a new partnered vehicle from Kyosho utilizing the Mongoose and .6 mod pinions....
