Default RC18T. Worth the money?

a guy i know is trying to sell me his rc18t for $50. it needs a charger and battery. its about a year old and was hardly ever run. it looks almost new. just a little dust here and there. not a scratch on it. is it worth it? i race 1/10 scale and MT. will this truck be as fun as those?

Yes, for $50 bucks it is deffinatly worth it. It is fun in stock form but if your not planning on letting your young child running it (if you have one?) you will quickly get bored with it. Strap a brushless in it and they can be more fun than your large 10th scale stuff at times.

get it and you will have a lot of fun....parts and hop ups are plentiful....
just remember the sterring is on the loose side (made like that to be forgiving)
There are a few tricks to tighten it up and then it drives like it is on rails....
you can find the tricks at www.competitionx.com (tony AE phalen's website)

how would it do on a track... a 1/10 and 1/8 scale track. we race 1/8, MT, and 1/10 2wd on it. will it do alright on that with a fast brushless system. a rage or mamba?

the track has to be smooth....or it will get bounced around.....
the rc18t is a fairly light vehicle w a small footprint.....
the reality is there are hop ups to widen and extend the wheelbase but after you do that you just spent a small fortune.....
the rc18t really shines as a street basher/ carpet offroad racer......
