Steering problem...

ok so basically, i bought this 1/14th car for £22(RRP £60), and it broke (what do you expect?). so i put a new receiver in there, and it works fine, but the steering does not center. before it had a position sensor that told the motor that controls the steering (i know how stupid not to have a servo) when to reverse, and when to stop. but the new electronics are even worse than the ones i took out (but at least they work), and don't support servos OR position sensors, so i have to find a way to center the steering. but i'm stumped... any suggestion from you lot? (that dont include buying too much :))
heres a piccy for those who will ask at some point.

It would help if you told us what type of vehicle you have.

If I understand you correctly you have newer up to date radio system correct? Which leads me to believe you have a 5 wire steering servo that won't plug in where the standard 3 wire normally goes in the the reciever. If this is the problem why don't you replace the servo with a normal one? It looks like a normal servo would fit by the looks of the picture. If cost is a issue maybe you should post in the buy/sell threads, I'm sure alot of us in the forums have extra servos they'd sell for dirt cheap. :D

well, i replaced the radio with a dirt cheap one, and it's only got two +/- outputs (on/off). can a servo run on/off only?
as i said, it didn't have a servo, it had a motor and position sensor running independantly.

bump it up still unresolved
