Default narrowed wheels

has anyone ever narrowed rims on a 18T ? I did a set of bow ties today and will see how they hook up on friday. hope that I didn't just waste a set of wheels.

well after going to the track with the wheels it feels like I have a lot more side bite when I come into the corners so I can come in with more speed and be able to keep the tight lines without pushing out wide.
