4' - 6' lane widths are common. Track dimensions of from 30' to 60' in length by 20' to 30' in depth are appropriate.

will your track be outdoors? (making in spring makes me think yes)
Jumps should be challenging but not so huge to be impossible and break the trucks.....small jumps with high loft angles work pretty good. The other thing you must be careful making are your lane borders.....you must decide will you make racer friendly or racer deadly.....just keep them low so the trucks arent lost by the size of them. Dont forget the surface must be smooth......the smoother the better.....

its really not the size, its the timing of the jumps. you want a nice flow to the track, not car breaking take offs and flat landings.
i have run my mini t on full size 1/8 scale and 1/ 10 electric tracks that are huge!
with 4' to 6' jumps but very smooth landings
with no problems. i am not saying build you track that way , i just want to give you an idea of what 18 scale cars can take!

i would look around and see what others have to get ideas!
then build what will work for you site! good luck with the new track!

I have run my Vendetta on larger tracks and don't like it. Shure, you can get it to fly far enough for most jumps, and get it to hold up ok. But, it just feels like a fish out of water. Besides, it's a lot easier to build and maintain a track that is scaled down to the size of the vehicle. Jumps a foot high or so, are good. I like to build jumps that are higher & steeper in low speed sections (so you get some nice height & hang time) and lower-flatter jumps in higher speed sections. Take-offs must be very smooth.
(and--you're welcome)
