mi wheels fit on the rc18b no problem. You need to use mi hexes though. You can use plastic or aluminum hexes. You may also want to use a spacer on the axle shaft (outside of the wheel) when you tighten down the axle nut you will notice you have a lot of exposed thread (axle is long) if you leave the exposed thread and crash you may have trouble removing the elastic stop nut.....If you have old or extra nuts they work. I found nylon spacers at Sears Hardware.

Yo Berm, You shouldve came out to race this sunday it was fun....i finally tested out my RC18t with my touring car shocks/springs on em.....it handled sooo nice.....I got this thing dialed for carpet....all i need is to take out the slop with a drag link

slicvicpr87,
Any pics of that TC shock/spring setup?
Which ones did you use?

Ok, my 18t has developed this clicking noise in the rear diff everyone talks about. Does the MIP diff take care of this along with cvd's? Its going to be used for carpet racing so would it be a good idea to install one in the front also?
I'm new to electric and carpet racing (nitro junkie) Crooked J racing shows to use 80wt in the front and 40wt in the rear. Could you explain why? And how much should it be lowered?

i figured out the hex hubs.
on a different note this thing is hooked up with the crime fighter tires on it, and it also looks totally bitchen. not only did i use half 8 tires and wheels but i also added a half 8 wing and a mini bj4 body. this thing handles and looks like an 1/8 scale.

MentallyLost,
I used HPI shocks and springs all around.....the front are aluminum threaded and the rear are plastic threaded....the springs are HPI silver (# HPI6825)
lol modification to the rear shock tower was needed. Only drilling out the holes for the bigger ball studs. The front took alot more mods because of the smaller shock tower...had to cut the springs and also shave down the bottom ball cup to allow more suspension travel....I will try to post pics....
I couldnt deal with the light 2.5 lbs/in AE springs i needed stiffer to correct all the body roll so i threw these HPI ones ..(there only 7.5 lbs/in!!) and it handles NICE!

heres my rc18t with 3 cell lipo, mamba and dynamiet 8000kv....14/60 gearing for now....had 55/15 but stripped the 55 spur.....anybody got any spare 55t spurs i can have/buy off them?
the wing is to keep it from swerving side to side at high speeds.....the rear springs are VERY hard to compress....about 1or 2mm of dampening occurs in the back....and the front goes down under the speed from the wing downforce.....
the clicking noise in ur diff means its slipping.....shim it up with a couple of shims and it should work for awhile
anybody wana input if i should buy a monotuning kit or new era alloy arms? i keep bending/brakin the bottom arms.....any if the monotuning ones are good can som1 gimme a link
ill have to upload the piks later on.....somthing wrong with the bluetooth on my computer

Instead of replacing the shocks with ones that have stiffer springs maybe put internal limiters in the shocks to reduce body roll and to give you a smoother transition from high speed to low speed cornering. It also gives more on power steering. I worked on different amounts of droop and came up with a great front/rear combo that makes my trucks corner speed out of this world. It has the corner speed a 1/12 onroad car. I run gold springs in front with associated 60wt with about 1.5 mm of droop in front. In the rear I have the blue springs with 40wt associated with 2mm of droop. There is a few other things I did to get the corner speed. But, I just think stiffer isn't the way to go. Adjusting droop is.. Just my opinion of course... just trying to help.

I just dont like the way to weight is thrown around so easily with the AE springs. For carpet i would guess you would want to run stiff springs and heavy shock oil. The AE springs are made for offroad so theres not much stiffness even with the stiffest springs they offer. I think its a bit much to put 70wt shcok oil in a small 18th scale car to stiffen up the suspension. Well i TRYED both ways and like the TC shocks/springs better.....if you guys dont think it will work but untill you actually try it you wont know for sure. Just my 2 cents
