Anyone else have one of these little trucks? I recently purchased the H16P model and was surprised with how nice it is. I'm already planning on converting it to brushless and putting the GPS electronics in a road car. There are a lot of Youtube reviews out there that cover a lot of details but I've included some of my findings below. Things I've discovered so far:

Stock motor has a 2.3mm shaft and uses a 14t pinion.
Motor screws are 2.5mm.
Motor mount does not appear to be adjustable.
The H16P and E models appear to have less ride height due to shorter shock shafts (will confirm).
Uses 12mm hexes and 4mm nuts.
Apparently shares a lot, if not all, suspension parts with the HBX 16889 chassis (I believe this includes others like the Redcat Volcano 16 and the FTX Tracer).

Default New Brushless Powa!

Installed a Surpass Hobby 2440 4600kv brushless motor and 35A ESC. Thankful that the stock motor mount, screws, and pinion all fit without issue. Just need to figure out how to route the RX antenna.

MJX Hyper Go w/Surpass Hobby 2440 4600kv motor and 35A ESC.

Only complaints so far is the Surpass Hobby ESC has a massive dead zone. I'll have to research if there is something I can do to help that. Also a bummer that for this application, the ESC battery lead is too short to reach the stock battery port. The chassis can fit much much higher capacity packs so not a deal breaker anyway.

I think my favorite feature is the explosion-proof body.

Default New batteries and motor heatsink.

MJX Hyper Go w/Gensace 1300mah 3S LiPO.

MJX Hyper Go Model H16P.

MJX Hyper Go w/Hoovo 1500mah 2S LIPO.

On 3S it's absolutely insanity. I think too much for the 4600kv motor

Default Bigger tires.

Always thought the stock tire setup was a bit too small. Luckily Proline makes some a wider offset wheel and tire combo for the Mini E-Revo. I think it looks a bit more like an Outcast now. Also since I don't yet know of a way to change the gearing, this bigger tires are probably going to make the 4600kv motor struggle, so I'm going to try a longer can, 2445, 3000kv motor to see how it fairs.

On the V1s and the Brushless V2s the stock spur is already metal. Were you hoping to change it to a different tooth count? If you have one of the plastic ones you should be able to get the metal ones as the other parts appear to be the same. If you're after a different size, I'm not sure what fits, but imagine there has to be other spurs that would mate with the hexagon center drive shaft.

Yeah I have the metal version, but I feel that this gear is the only part of the car that the quality isnt that good. Some teeth broke (it is a brushless upgrade).

Doh that is a bummer! I'll keep my eyes peeled to see if I observe anyone finding a better quality replacement. If I do, I'll update this thread.

Also a small tip. Replace the four tiny screws of each diff (before they break soon) with the 'countersunk flat head screws' 2.3x10mm' (as in the manual), which you can find in other parts of the car.

A proper metal spur gear and differentials upgrade is possible with the 'FTX Tracer 'Heavy duty'' parts. It requires these: If upgrading your Tracer’s drivetrain to feature machined metal gearing, machined metal spur gear or heavy duty centre shaft, each of the following items are required to complete this upgrade:
  • 1 x FTX9776
  • 1 x FTX9777
  • 2 x FTX9778
