Does anyone have a good starting point for the gl pro esc setting with the 2500kv motor (boost and timing) or know where I can get a set up sheet from?

Noble NB4 came in a couple days ago. Finished getting the electronics situated and got to drive it tonight, and have to say it was pretty great for a shake down run. Couple little chassis tuning issues but really sweet driving. Turned the 5500 motor down to 60% and its plenty fast. Grips amazingly well on H.D. foam mat.

Please excuse the ugly body. Shouldn't have been in the pic

The last post in here was in January of 2021. Has the discussion moved or is there still interest here?

The class never really got going. I’ve still got mine. I’ll run it during practice. But the others bought and after awhile found that open wheel at this scale is a bit nerve wracking. I think we ran it once in well over a year.

The way to enjoy F1 Chassis on practice days is with controlled practice sessions for F1 cars only…most of the open wheel issues come up on practice days running w/GT cars when in most “bad” crash scenarios the F1’s come out the worst of the 2 damage wise, the racing lines and throttle points are also pretty different for F1 which by itself causes more on track GTG’s w/GT cars & thats with similarly powered GT cars problems gets much worst when Mod powered cars are on the track alongside F1’s. Thats on the practice side of things, on racing side including myself we have a few RC UF1 (10th scale F1 series) veterans at our track and all of us been enjoying the F1 racing class on club days just as much if not more than GT classes. per FB posts at RCHQ & HRC a lot of GLF’s were sold last couple of months, it will be up to race directors to just offer the class on race days to get the F1 juices flowing for the long haul like it happened in 10th scale worldwide starting in late 2000’s and still going strong…Eventually a national level 28th scale F1 only race weekend with a dope format would be so nice ( maybe with a 94mm only GT class support race

This was posted on FB a while back by a really fast racer and it did wonders for my car...same tune works great for 3500 motors too.Motor/ESC:
  • 2500kv motor. Stock GL ESC.
  • 14 tooth pinion, stock spur, diff assembled using Kyosho ball diff grease
  • ESC settings:
1. Running mode: 2 Forward/Reverse with Brake

2. LVC: 5 (3.2V)

3. Overheat: 2 (Disable)

4. Neutral Range: 1 (Narrow)

5. Punch: 9 (Max)

6. Max Fwd Force: 5 (100%)

7. Max Rev Force: 2 (50%)

8. Max Brake Force: 3

9. Drag Brake: 5

10. Brake Punch: 1

11. Timing: 8 (Max)

I’ll never know exactly why. Most of the group already sold theirs. There’s only a few left. Practice didn’t seem to be the problem, that’s when most would run them. Just couldn’t get more then 2-3 to bring them. And with the Wisconsin track now closed. There’s little chance of it returning. Basically the next groups are in Iowa or near Detroit. I don’t know many that would drive 5-8hrs to race. We’ve somewhat got the same problem with 1/10 F1. Most prefer touring cars over F1

In my observation ppl pick up an F1 chassis bc they love F1 in general BUT they also come in with the false assumption that an F1 car should drive and tune the same as GT cars and quickly get turned off when they find out this is not he case and get rid of them instead of sticking it out to get them working properly because their GT cars are working much better already. F1 cars are more unbalanced by nature of the thier longer wheel base, more finiky to tune & keep the rune in a good place from track day to track day, and also require some specialty aftermarket pieces for best performance & durability but ultimaltly more rewarding for the same reasons when the tune finally comes in. At the end of the day more of a specialty class rather than a staple class like GT racing so the goal should be to wrangle up the die hard F1 enthusists to get a racing class going, maybe doable maybe not in any given club but I bet just offering the class on race days will go a long way. Thakfully 10th scale F1 here in SoCal is going strong with deep levels of talent present at each club race so we're able to get our fix at least in that scale.

Billy and KevinRCStuff where do you get your scale graphics from?

Default GLF-1 GL GSC V1 ESC

Being an F-1 fan i decided to get the GL F1 kit. Assuming i can locate a wrap or suitable decals i hope recreate a smaller version of my 1/10 scale McLaren Ford. After getting some advise on how to hook up the stock ESC that ran counter to everything I learned over the last 35 years, i looked in vain for some instructions/manual on how to do it correctly. After talking to some people, seeing some pictures on this forum, and making a few educated guesses Im pretty sure i know how to do it now. But I still have a few questions.

1 Are the 3 motor wires in the same A,B,C order as every other brushless ESC I’ve had and match up with the order of the terminals on PN motor?
2 There are two ports on the top of the ESC, one is for the battery, what is the second port for?
3. Is this ESC programmable and if so what programming box do i use (i already have one for the PN 16AMP hobbywing based ESC)?

Personally I’m very disappointed in the lack of information about this ESC or the difficulty in finding it

PS. The 3500 motor is out of stock and PN don’t make a 2500 motor, what 2500kv motor are you using and where do you get it?

I’ve seen a few places in the Facebook groups for where people get there stickers. I don’t sticker mine. I think the ones on the picture came out of a model kit he had
