I think Tamiya should re-release 1:24 scale classic buggies and retros like these:
I am hoping that this is Tamiya's intention w/ the release of the 1/24th Lunchbox and the new SW-01 1/24th platform. I am guessing if the 1/24th Lunchbox does well they'd probably release in other forms as well. Guessing that Tamiya has also been paying attention to all the success that Team Associated has had w/ their 1/24th releases over the past few years (I know I own a few of them and they are a lot of fun).

I sorta lost interest in the Lunch Box once I saw it was designed to do wheelies about 99% of the time.
I never owned a 1:10 Lunchbox, but correct me if I am wrong, wasn't the intention of the Lunchbox (and Wild Willy) to be a little over the top in terms of wheelies and jumps and less performance minded. I am a bit undecided on the Lunchbox myself, wheelies don't interest me either. I too would love a mini Hornet, Grasshopper, Frog, Boomerang, Sand Scorcher, etc...

Yeah, it was but this thing seems even worse.

Thabks for that video,
WOW, they do look a bit annoying to control.
Agreed after seeing that video, not digging the constant 2 wheel in the air action.

Tamiya's site is listing this as $117 MSRP,
of course Tamiya always lists things way more than we'll be able to get it elsewhere.
I am guessing this will retail around $70ish online?? -This being a kit, not sure what it will come with.

If I remember right, it comes with the ESC and motor. You'll need a radio, receiver servo and battery.

That's sounds more expensive than the original 1/12 scale Lunch Box.

..I am seeing a few online retailers taking pre-orders. Price is about $100, ...for something I don't particularly love I think i'll pass. Heck for $35 more you can get the full size Lunchbox. ..and considering you have to supply additional parts to get it going ..seems kind of pricey to me personally.

If they make a 1:24 Wild Willy that's going to be an instant hit!

Yes, I think the Lunchbox is my least fav' AND the fact that its kind of a "silly" car rather than a purpose built RC car (from the video it looks like it pops a lot of wheelies, etc) ...and the tires aren't even scale. ..anyway,

I'd have to get a Hornet, Frog and/or Grasshopper if they came out w/ it.
