    Hi Joe,

    Sorry for late reply as I haven't been checking my account here for a while.
    Might be better to send PM instead next time as I don't get email notifications of new visitor messages.

    The firmware upgrade should be the 1st thing to try if you are keen on more features. I'm also a casual basher, and I upgraded the firmware mainly for -
    1. Additional channel control (i.e. more than 3Ch)
    2. A working Expo function (the stock firmware's expo doesn't work at all)
    3. Ability to map button to function.

    The other interesting features in the firmware (though they don't expand the controller's capabilities, eg. backlight timer adjust, voltage alarm) certainly add more value to the upgrade. As for other physical mods (eg, LCD film reverse, voltage regulator), unless you have no intention to upgrade the firmware, try them only after successful firmware upgrade.
