John Stranahan did a lot of research on this in the late 90's and early to mid 2000's. I often was right there with him when he ran these experiments and learned a lot of what you claim is anecdotal information working with him. He was far smarter than me, and him being and engineering teacher he was much better able than me to collect the data and present it. I suggest reading through some of his threads. There is a post on his Team AE TC5 thread (post 706) that has some very general statements about it, but if you dig deeper into it, you can find more reasoning through out all the information posted.

John defends his information very well through out his posts. If you want an education on RC Dynamics, reading his threads is the best thing you can do. I cannot teach these concepts very well. I do have an above avg information retention, so I remember a lot of the results of the findings, but don't quite remember the methodology behind it.

Christian, I'd like to discuss this in private so I will not post anything on the forums. Could you tell me why the grip is maximized when the RC is on ground level? I've spoke to one of the Indycar engineers I know (I volunteer for an Indycar team) and he does not feel this way, so I'm looking for the reasons. I'm not saying you are wrong, just trying to understand so that I can tell my race engineer friend. Thanks, Glenn Lane
