Electronics are strange things - we have a lot of people running it with out issue as well. We tested the software for about 6 months with a variety of different level drivers.... as long as a61 works for you. Like I said, on the VTX8 biggest different between a61 and a64 is the error detection program. On the VTX10 series - there was updates plus the error detection.

No if you remember I bought a brand new viper vf445 and still got the same error after 10 seconds on the track. (it happens with 3 different motors,4 different sensor wires, 2 different batteries and a new set of bullet connecters on motor and battery)Viper drivers are the one's that told me A64 doesn't play well in some esc's. There a several people who have had the same problem, they just run a61 with No problems

do you only get the error code when using a certain motor with that esc? biggest difference between a61 and a64 is the protection software. This protects the esc from outside shorts that could damage the unit (single biggest failure reason found with VTX8). If it keeps happening with that one motor - it could be something in that motor. Also we have seen a loose connection (or dirty connection) on the battery side cause a arch that the esc measures as a short. It is possible that one unit is more sensitive to the measurement than others, but shouldn't have the same issue with different motors.

You wanted me to pm ya about the A64. Every time I run it I get the alternating f&R lights and it shuts down. got tired of DNF'ing ,Tried everything. re-soldered,new motors, new sensor wires, spoke to a few sponsored drivers in the region and they all said to go back to A61,A64 has a glitch, on some esc's it works fine and on others you just get that error code all the time. They said if it doesn't take to just use A61 which I did for the last 7 race days that I attended in August ,September and October and haven't had a problem. 3 heats each plus 15-20 minutes of practice each day

boborc - if the lights are alternating, its the motor error detection. If they were flashing together it was the motor/esc temp cut off. Make sure the cut off temperature is 60-90* higher than the outside temperature you are looking to achieve. As the protection settings read temperatures off the inside of the motor and esc. Example I would guess maybe your protection setting is maybe 200 area, based on what you put in the letter. This can cause the system to stutter because its warning you that your closing in on the temp cut off setting. Its just a layer of protection in the system. Nick/Viper

Nick Boborc here. I didn't have much time to play around at the track which is why I just reverted back to A61. Heard from more than one person a while back that said the A64 shuts down after 4 minutes and that's exactly what happened. It was my first time out this season (to many home improvements but that's another story) so I was just getting used to the new layout at the track and wasn't even pushing it loly gagging over the jumps etc. when it shut down esc 88 degrees motor 125 the first time forgot to make note of what lights but they where different the second time which is the one I told ya the f &R alternating and the red solid esc 95 motor 137. The first time I believe all lights where flashing at the same time. The motor is fresh only 2 race weekends on it 45 min to an hour tops and the truck is off a fresh total rebuild. Should I try with another motor on a64??? I'll go over the wiring but during the rebuild I double checked everything
